lol, you need to balance out the threads you go on.
menu planning
real people talking aout feeding a family of five on fifty quid a week, or some other such sum that i would find impossile
cheap holiday ideas
discounts. clicking through the links saves packets.
discount codes, at one point i always managed to get at the very least a fiver of my tesco online shop, if not more
a social life without spending a fiver at starbucks/costa/local cafe
i could go on and on.

You don't have to buy anything on here that people recommend, you are your own person.

The chanel vitalumiere foundation is fab though

darkandstormy · 02/02/2010 21:34

Yes, I am on the style and beauty section waaay too much, well its escapism. To be honest even if I got one of those posh bags it would be covered in felt tip,cat wee ,whatever within 48 hours.

belle I must admit I am really drawn to getting some,is it really good? what colour did you get?

BelleDeChocolateFluffyBunny · 02/02/2010 21:41

I have really pale skin so have the lightest one, 10 nude. It still has a little colour in it, it stays on all day, I'm impressed with it. I brought some Benefit foundation in October, it's crap, thick and the colour comes off way too easily, it looks greasy aswell.

darkandstormy · 02/02/2010 21:47

right,I'm off shopping pronto.I must admit I have only heard good about this one.

It's a little over £30 though. I only use a very little so it will last for ages. Do remember to ask for some samples at the Chanel counter to make up for the spend

BelleDameSansMerci · 02/02/2010 21:49

Chanel foundations give me spots but they are fabulous otherwise...

darkandstormy · 02/02/2010 21:53

the Liz Earle cleanse and polish gave me horrendous spots painful acne in fact. Its weird isn't it,because I know loads rave about this one.

I love Chanel foundation, have used it for 20 years. But having eczema and dry skin, it seems to work really well for me, so maybe the oilyness is good for me but not others. Just also want to put in another must have, which is eve lom cleanser. My life is transformed, I tell you, transformed.

BelleDameSansMerci · 03/02/2010 07:27

BlackJack I love your writing style!

I've found the best "routine" for me is the Clinique 1,2,3 but I hardly ever bother. I've got quite oily skin, though, even though I'm 44 and I know a lot of people don't like using soap. Work really well for me though.

My favourite foundation, currently, is Dior Skin but it's very strange and powdery to use. And, for a cheaper one, the Boots No7 one with Protect and Perfect in it is really good too.

cornsilk · 03/02/2010 07:54

I was using vitalumiere pre mumsnet.

Cyb · 03/02/2010 07:57

I use the Boots version of Eve Lom which is 10% of the price

cocolepew · 03/02/2010 07:59

Just to even things up I thought Vitalumiere was crap.

HTH.

Cyb · 03/02/2010 07:59

YANBU!

BlackJackScroggins · 03/02/2010 21:17

ooh, cyb, what's the boots eve lom looky likey called?

Cyb · 03/02/2010 21:52

its here I've ben using it for ages now, takes eye make up off too, I really rate it.

I used Eve Lom before and altho this doesn't smell as 'essential oily' as hers, and isn't quite as grainy I think it works as well

notnowbernard · 03/02/2010 21:56

Yes I've been splashing the cash based on MN recommendations lately as well

Vitalumiere (really rate it)

Am waiting for the GArnier caffeine roll-on eye thingy as recommended by ?cocolepew the other day, ordered with my Tesco shop yesterday

Cyb · 03/02/2010 21:57

I'm wearing my Hush cardigown as we speak

Cyb · 03/02/2010 21:58

Cyb · 03/02/2010 21:59

dearprudence · 03/02/2010 22:02

I've just shelled out sixteen quid on Chanel Particuliere nail colour. Although to be fair this has been everywhere, not just MN
