I am SO fed up of them being late out of school when we have to rush off to afterschool clubs. They are supposed to come out at 3.30 and we can just make the 4-6 yo gymnastics session if we leave at 3.30 on the dot.
So today i just walked into each of their classrooms and said 'excuse me Mr X I need to take Y now.' in a pleasant way.I think I'm going to do it every week now
I mean we get them to school on time, they should get them ou on time.

YANBU - princessparty i can sympathise with you , ds starts school at 8.45am & although we have a 7mile drive to get him there we always arrive early , he is meant to finish school at 2.30pm yet it is almost 2.50pm before he gets out , very annoying .

princessparty · 02/02/2010 17:47

I DO organise clubs round school time ,therefore I expect the school teachers to be professional and organised to let them out of the classroom on time.It is only good manners they must know people have things organised
I will mention to the girls' teachers t I will need them at 3.30 on the dot every Tuesday .So then the ball is in their court.
There is no reception, there is a parttime secretary but she isn't near the entrance.there is a security lock on the door but all the parents and kids know the code.

OP posts:
cornsilk · 02/02/2010 17:50

So you went in without permission by entering the code?

So you key in the code and waltz in unannounced?

My gast is flabbered.

cornsilk · 02/02/2010 17:52

You will probably find the code changed next time.

TheProvincialLady · 02/02/2010 17:52

IF this happened then I think you can`expect to hear from the head regarding your future presence (or lack of) on school premises.

cathcat · 02/02/2010 17:53

Lol I think they need to change that code; it is hardly a secure environment if everyone knows the code.
you are U to march into someone's class room but it is reasonable for the children to come out at pick -up time.
I am a teacher and try to get kids ready in time for the bell and race to staffroom for emergency coffee.

wordsonascreen · 02/02/2010 17:53

Gosh the sense of entitlement from the OP is astounding.

CirrhosisByTheSea · 02/02/2010 17:54

You're being totally unreasonable about this issue. It's not to do with being professional, it's the logistics of 30 young children to organise and as others have said teaching ends at 3.30pm or whatever. The time taken to get out is on top of that. What a horrible job teaching must be, trying to keep totally unreasonable people, reasonable!

MaureenMLove · 02/02/2010 17:54

YAB so so unreasonable and if you walked into my classroom, I'd have you removed from the premises.

CirrhosisByTheSea · 02/02/2010 17:54

totally agree wordsonascreen - you have summed it up

PureAsTheColdDrivenSnow · 02/02/2010 17:55

so why bother asking if you're not going to read and absorb the responses?

Several people have said that the teaching ends at 3:30, and it takes a few mins for the kids to get themselves together and out the door.

If the teaching is going on until way past 3:30, then fine - the teacher is being disorganise - but you are still being extremely unreasonable just to march into the room and take them out

cornsilk · 02/02/2010 17:55

I don't believe any of this.

McSnail · 02/02/2010 17:55

QUOTE: "What a horrible job teaching must be, trying to keep totally unreasonable people, reasonable!"

Yes - parents it can be awful.

MaureenMLove · 02/02/2010 17:56

Me either cornsilk, but I could do with a row!

McSnail · 02/02/2010 17:57

So, OP - how would you feel if other randoms walked in off the street and entered your children's school?

None too happy, I'm guessing...

cornsilk · 02/02/2010 17:57

I bet the other parents would love to see you barging in in front of them as well. Popular with the teacher and the other parents.

cornsilk · 02/02/2010 18:02

Frosty

elmofan · 02/02/2010 18:05

ok maybe walking into their classroom wasn't the best thing to do but maybe a little note to ask if they could be let out on time as they had another class to attend might work better next time .

pagwatch · 02/02/2010 18:07

Am I get muddled but do I remember your name in the context of having other issues with your school - some disruptive boys? Or was that some other princess? [crap memory]

If you are so cross with your school it might serve you better to go in and talk to them rather than coming over all bratty. It isn't setting a very good example to any ofthe children, including your own

threetimemummy · 02/02/2010 18:08

I have to ask, and genuine question...why do you think being late to gym will matter that much? Surely it would only be a few minutes?

posieparker · 02/02/2010 18:08

Good god.
