"Shame on you ENGLAND !!!! the only country where we have homeless without shelter, children going to bed without eating, elderly going without needed meds, mentally ill without treatment and british servicemen and women fighting without the best kit - yet we donate £50 million to the people of Haiti ... 99% of people won't have the guts to copy and repost this."

Two of them have done it now, I said something to the first one but now someone else has posted it and it has really pissed me off I like the two friends but seriously...are they really that ignorant?!

Or AIBU?

the ONLY country??????

really, now ranty status's are fine but at least make it true! Otheriwse they just look stupid and ill informed ha ha

gingernutlover · 01/02/2010 12:15

how about changing your to "Shame on you XXXXXX for not checking your facts before posting status's"

or should that be stati? status'?

TrippleBerryFairy · 01/02/2010 12:17

Nevermind the wording - anyone sending/posting chain letters (and this seems to be one of those things - '99% of people won't have the guts to copy and repost this') is an idiot in my book.

MadameDefarge · 01/02/2010 12:18

not to be a party pooper, but this is the third thread on this topic...

OooohWhatAFuss · 01/02/2010 12:19

I saw this too but figure no point arguing with people who cut and paste status updates without really thinking about them. 99% of people will realise that this is an ignorant statement!
Also wanted to ask the people who had posted this exactly what they are doing personally to solve the problems they mentioned, eg voluntary work or donating to charity... after all, to make such a statement they must be pro-active, surely? Grrr.

Chulita · 01/02/2010 12:20

I really want to comment but I know I'll end up being rude. I don't mind 'post this if you know someone who's been eaten by a dragon' or whatever, but this is just nasty and stupid [sigh]

I can't!

onagar · 01/02/2010 13:16

I know people who pass on emails and txts or post things on their pages regardless of the content because it told them to on the bottom.. it's mindless obedience rather than them thinking about it and agreeing.

Not sure if that's not worse in one way. Where did all the grown-ups go.

Spidermama · 01/02/2010 13:58

I've only seen this thread too.
