to want to know what I am working next week?

We used to work set days, but a few weeks ago were told we would have to cover the 5 days M-F. I work 24 hours per week.

So was initially told I had this Monday off but was phoned on Thurs morn (9am on my week off) and asked to come in Mon pm - ok I cancelled the plans I had for Mon and will go into work later today.

Have just phoned to get next weeks off duty and it is not done. I want to organise hairdresser, electrician etc for next week but can't as I do not know what I will be working.

IABU. Also one of my colleagues has small children and has to organise childcare. It must be a nightmare for her to organise her childminder.

you should be able to plan for next week at the very least, and as you say, how can colleagues organise childcare,if they dont know when they are on?

dp has just had his shift pattern changed too, with a couple of weeks notice, the only saving grace is that he does have a shift pattern for the next four weeks. but he doesnt have the pattern for after that.
