to want a life like the Kardashians?

They seem like such a close family. I'm close with my family but not like this. My elder sister lives 200 miles away and battles with weight and dh problems. My little sister is a redundant recluse. My mum is always ill and is the worst person to take advice from because she's bitter about so many things in her life. My brothers are always so busy I never see them.

Mt dh told me to stop watching the Kardashians (Keeping up with the Kardashians on E channel ) because it's unrealistic. But I crave a closer family/sisterhood like theirs. Oh and looking gorgeous everyday . Is it really unrealistic to have such a close family? AIBU?

YANBU! I think we might get flamed on here ('who are they?' 'famous for nothing!} but I adore them. This is nothing to do with money or fame. Kris and her girls have such an honest, open relationship. My mama and I are quite similar. The girls have gorgeous souls and keep each other right. The little ones, Kylie and Kendall, are luckier than they know! For being a young kid, Rob is a sweetheart: very often on twitter (I follow them there) he shares gorgeous words of hope, love, and prayer. Quite deep for a kid, reminds me of my brother. They have their troubles too (Kim's sex tape, or Scott Disick's ego!) I have had a problematic relationship with my stepfather: Bruce Jenner is the most amazing father figure I could imagine.

I think it is realistic to be a dramatic, hilarious, close, unconditional family like the Kardashians and I'm in no way suprised you crave it. Stay tuned - I think the Kardashians are good for the soul. Love them.

What are you talking about? I feel very out of the loop.

Are they a real family or fictitional?

southeastastra · 01/02/2010 08:21

they are real, it's a 'reality' show. sure tons of it is made up.

still i'm hooked too.

sparkle09 · 01/02/2010 08:23

i missed it last night, although i love them!

have they had that massive argument yet that has been advertised?

Vivia · 01/02/2010 08:26

There are certainly contrived, ridiculous, over-the-top moments for that 'reality tv' feel. But they are completely real and just lovely.

For those fans who don't already know, Khloe and Kourtney spent a few months in Miami opening a branch of 'Dash', their boutique. There is a series on E! entertainment about it called 'Khloe and Kourtney Take Miami'. Also fun.

Vivia, I'm gald you understand. Do you have loads of sisters? I've tried to have a closer relationship with my sisters since seeing what unconditional sisterly love can be like.

southeastastra: Is it fictional? Nooooooo. Don't tell me if it is.

They just have the right attitude. There is jealousy, but then Kris, Rob or Bruce will step in. There is insecurity and anger...oh, they go to an anger management course and apologise and it's all wonderful again. My family seem to stew for months and it's all left unsaid. I wish my family was closer. I think it might be too late though.

My sister thinks they have money and hot weather and it's easier to be nicer to eachother if you don't commute all day and come home to a freezing cold house to order a takeaway. I see lil sis's point. I'm properly hooked and this season I guess with Courtney's pregnancy and everything, I'm finding it much more interesting.
