AIBU to find it quite odd when people post this as a response in AIBU?

Unless I am mistaken I thought AIBU threads were for 2 purposes - to ask something about a personal experience or to comment on the oddities of life in general?

For the latter of course it is nothing to do with anyone - but is that not half the point of AIBU?

Yes, I've had a few responses along those lines. And of course they are right, but as you say it rather negates the point of the topic

I think that it's fair enough to say to some snarky busybody that she is being unreasonable sticking her judgey/nosy/jealous (delete as applicable) beak into someone else's business.
Very often AIBU is all sbout people taking far too much interest in things that really aren't their concern so it's a valid response.....imo

But saying "It's got nothing to do with you" is a valid response to the question "AIBU to report someone I don't know for something I'm not sure happened"

I can't see how the response of it's got nothing to do with you negates the AIBU topic.

I dont know what thread you are talking about - I havent seen it.

I am meaning the kind of thread where someone says "do you find it odd when someone does / says / thinks this or that..."

Then someone responds with "its nothing to do with you what other people say / do / think..."

Um - but surely the point is that the thread is just an observation...

I think I've told people to mind their own when they have been (in my opinion) mean and judgy to others (usually new mums who are having a hard time)
But I am always right.

If it's my thread I wouldn't think that, what I can't stand is getting flamed for giving my opinion to the OP. Then it's kind of "speak to the OP I'm not interested in your opinion on my opinion"
