Really, I could cry.
It's just not fair

Oh, and I've just dyed my hair again, and instead of now being the medium blonde it was supposed to be, it's bright orange with weird blonde/grey roots.
I look like an old Garfield.

What am I to do?

kinnies · 29/01/2010 15:00

Aww
Sympathy from me. Sounds utterly shite.
Can you get to the hairdressers to sort your hair out?

mehdismummy · 29/01/2010 15:01

pmsl hahha enrique wont love u now!!!!

muggglewump · 29/01/2010 15:09

No, I'm broke until Monday, bf is arriving on Sunday.
I don't own a hat and I'm thinking insisting on wearing DD's High School Musical hat for 2 days will be a bit weird.

As for you Mehdi's, fuck off, I'm never giving you a bakewell tart again and I'm not telling you all about Jedward when I go to see them in March, so there. Hmmpph

kinnies · 29/01/2010 15:50

Well Muggle,

I take back at least some of my sympathy as you are a jedward fan!

You could trawl the style&beauty history and see if it comes up with a fix for your hair.

darkandstormy · 29/01/2010 15:59

oh no I can relate I have been there many times. My worst one was when it came out bright pink on the greys. Can you put a neutral brown toner on say like a nice and easy light ash brown.

muggglewump · 29/01/2010 16:05

Jedward are fantastic, you will see, you will be eating your words in a few years when everyone wants a piece of them and only I have the original Jedward bag

I'm a bit scared of ash coloured hair dye, as in my (bitter) experience, it turns out grey.

My bf has seen me in worse states, and will laugh with me, rather than at me, but still, this weekend is so not going as planned.

no sympathy for threads about threads! you tmi minx

muggglewump · 29/01/2010 17:02

Threads about threads are fine if you start them yourself.

To make it worse, one of my rats has just bitten me for the first time, and when I went to get a plaster, there were none as DD had put them all on her teddies and put the empty box back so I didn't realise we needed more

I've to go to the shop shortly for more plasters, and given the way I'm feeling, wine, but for now, I have loo roll on my finger.

What next?

OP posts:
muggglewump · 29/01/2010 19:05

Come on you itches, I want need sympathy, I'm having a hair/bitten finger/cottage cheese thrush crisis.
I need help.

I have had a glass of wine, it hasn't helped. What should I try next?
Drugs?

OP posts:
MollyRoger · 29/01/2010 19:07

wine might make it worse

You Poor thing...is that sympathetic enough?

BelleDameSansMerci · 29/01/2010 19:21

Soooo, you have thrush; your hair is orange (in places); you keep rats; and your boyfriend arrives on Sunday? I think that's enough for anyone to have to deal with. Lots of sympathy.

muggglewump · 29/01/2010 19:32

No, that is not sympathetic enough, and telling me wine will make it worse is just mean.

Laughing is beyond itchy (kinda like my fanjo really) so it's just horrid to do it.

So are drugs the answer?

I have some Nurofen and a bottle of really old, congealed cough medicine. Which will help?

OP posts:
valleyqueen · 29/01/2010 19:43

Head and shoulders may possibly strip some of the colour out making it look less orange. This helped me slightly when I had my last Ronald McDonald episode.

You have my greatest sympathy.

mehdismummy · 29/01/2010 20:01

perhaps jedward will dye their hair and chirp like a bird in your honour!!

muggglewump · 29/01/2010 21:08

Head and Shoulders?
I'll try that, thanks.
I look like Garfield, I really do and it's not that funny.
I once read putting ketchup on your hair did something to do with bad hair dye, but I can't remember what it was.
Anyone know, or should I just try it anyway?
I have loads of other sauces if they might work.
Tartare, mustard x4 types, mint sauce and jelly, horseradish, wasabi, mayo etc.
Will any of them stop me looking like a fat, orange cartoon cat?

muggglewump · 29/01/2010 21:11

Jedward are fabulous Mehdis, they just are.

MiladyDeWinter · 29/01/2010 21:17

Canesten oral is great. Expensive but well worth overdosing on taking. The cream soothes but according to the pharmacist who treated me doesn't actually cure it after I had spent tens of pounds on it at other shops.

Regards to Jedward. Photos please

SpottyMuldoon · 29/01/2010 21:25

Ketchup is for when your hair turns green. It happens if you try to dye bleached blonde hair brown without putting red on first.

You need a blue/ash based toner to tone down the orange. You could try the Head and Shoulders idea but if you've tried to go light from dark it probably won't work.

muggglewump · 31/01/2010 14:03

I am pleased to announce that the thrush is no more

The bf will be here in an hour, I have just tidied up, my hair seems less orange after a good scrub with head and shoulders, I have Jamie's slow roast pork in the oven and all is looking right!

Roll on DD's bedtime

valleyqueen · 01/02/2010 17:31

I am glad the head and shoulders worked for you. It's the only thing I ever found to correct orange streaks.
