to be a little bit annoyed that I am off work today as I had both big toenails removed yesterday afternoon and my boss has called me to ask if I will attend a conference call

as I am just "sat around doing nothing" !! I had both big toe nails taken off yesterday, they had to be cut out and I have bandages on both toes. I have been told to keep them elevated for 24 hours and got about two hours sleep last night. My boss has just called me and said " as you are doing nothing would you mind joining the conference call it will last an hour" I seem to remember being told at some point in the past that if you are off sick then you are off sick and should not be contacted by your manager after you have called in ?
Part of me is thoroughly pissed off as he woke me up and wonders if this infringes something or other, part of me can see his point. I am still in pain and am in bed, I cant get any shoes or slippers on either

Are you actually signed off sick by your doctor?

Just tell him you are in too much pain so won't be able to concentrate and would be liable to groan down the 'phone or fall asleep. That should put him off

YANBU to be a little bit annoyed, but your boss probably doesn't realise that you are in a lot of pain. He probably thinks that you can't walk so can't get in but could be on the phone quite easily.

I suppose I am just a bit miffed that during the snow out of 8 people I was one of two who made it in and now I cant even be in pain in peace !(
