Shopping in Waitrose this afternoon trying desperately to get baby to sleep in the process. Can't stay in the house currently during her big sleep as have builders in, so planned to do the big weekly shop. DD normally goes off to sleep like a dream but today decided she didn''t want anything without a fight.

I've learned to tune her out, apparently others havent. In the BABY aisle of all places, 2 OAP's blocked my trolley and said I was not allowed to leave the aisle until the baby stopped crying or I left the shop . DD in a sling btw. One of the OAP's SHOUTED that if I needed to 'shove your teat in its mouth then you better do it or I will take her myself and get someone to take you out'. Obv attracted other shoppers and security.

Manager came to see what the fuss was and after me explaining asked me to leave. I abandoned half-full trolley in serious flounce mode. I honestly they were being absolutely horrendously discriminatory against my crying newborn!!!! DH is being extremely unhelpful saying I should have left to 'take the high road' Do I actually have a legal case about this?

I am actually concerned that boobookins works for the RSPCA when he/she is advocating smacking cats - really not acceptable.

As for views on child rearing

ImSoNotTelling · 24/01/2010 12:11

boobookins just keeps on giving doesn't she

Fabulous work.

First children are expendable, now they should all be aborted, and mums are accused of treating newborns like "mini adults" and giving in to their emotional tactic of crying

Just brilliant.

As if anyone would really decide not to have children because they don't want to inflict their crying on others!

TotallyAndUtterlyPaninied · 24/01/2010 12:12

Why is Boobookins on MN if she hasn't got children and why has she got such strong views if she's never raised one?

Most of us work our arses off to pay for our children and we don't claim benefits.

You haven't got a clue.

ImSoNotTelling · 24/01/2010 12:17

She is on MN because she is an inspired troll IMO.

pagwatch · 24/01/2010 14:14

I love booboo.

He/she is a wonderful construct.
I am inclining towards the view that he/she could be Matthew Wright - the random witterings upon matters she knows nothing about is a good indicator.

But then Matthew does at least have a certain 'jolity' about him BooBoo sounds very much like she has a face akin to a well slapped arse and the demeanour to match.

Matthew... is that you?

AnyFucker · 24/01/2010 14:33

watch matthew's show on Monday...MN could get a shout-out

or one of the subjects for discussion with be this very topic

mark my words!

"there are more than enough people on the planet to keep it going for MANY generations - we do not NEED more children"

This has to be one of the most stupid things I have ever read....ah-hem, in order for there to be many generations don't we need children???

Booboo is gas.
PMSL at the whole notion of coming onto a parenting site and telling all how it should be done..."I haven't got kids - but I know someone who does". Inspired!

YouAintSinMeRight · 24/01/2010 15:06

But why are people talking to Booboo, who is clearly pretty thick?

pagwatch · 24/01/2010 15:08

I don't mind talking to people who are not that bright.
Is it not allowed?

EdgarAllenSnow · 24/01/2010 15:13

You try communicating 'do not leave the den until I have come back from hunting' using your tail. It just can't be done.

snigger.

obviously cats give in way too much to their kittens mewlings and spoil them so they can't be controlled by conventional means...

SnotBaby · 24/01/2010 15:56

"(despite there are more than enough people on the planet to keep it going for MANY generations - we do not NEED more children)"

I know YouAintSinMeRight has already highlighted this, but this is the most illogical sentence I have ever read. Apart from the whole mortality detail, I think the planet tends to "keep going" without any help from us.
brain explodes

Just had quite a satisfying daydream about organising a loud baby flashmob in Waitrose.

Oh dear, oh dear.

This thread really does have new and amazing levels of bonkersness. Classic.

Thanks all, have thoroughly enjoyed reading it, especially your contributions boobookins, sheer genius (as is your very apt name choice btw)

Brilliant!

LynetteScavo · 24/01/2010 17:37

Boobookins....for the first time on MN I actually really want to slap a poster. Yes you.

Do fuck off.

Please.

Jacksmama · 24/01/2010 18:35

What Lynette said.

Oh sorry - I do have to say it again.

FUCK OFF BOOBOO YOU DERANGED TROLL.

Sorry, OP - your thread has really taken a turn, hasn't it.

bibbitybobbityhat · 24/01/2010 19:48

Op - forget about booboo or whatever she/he's called I have ignored her totally cos she took the thread off on a mad tangent - I want to know more about what was actually said to you by the manager of Waitrose, which Waitrose branch it was, and what you are going to do in terms of complaint/legal action. Loads of us were really interested in your original story.

Please please please come back!!!

Pretty please.

TigerDrivesAgain · 24/01/2010 20:54

I just wish that Boobookins' paddle of correction or whatever thing of correction it was had corrected his grammar and typing. And views. Now that would be useful.

bibbitybobbityhat · 24/01/2010 22:20

Never before in more than 3 years on Mumsnet have I wanted the op to come back and tell us more ...

interstella71 · 24/01/2010 22:21

Classic -

Trolls
Vicious bands of OAPs
Class war
Animal hatred
Parentcraft
Waitrose worship

and a complete and utter withered nut job.
