It has taken me two years to sell my house. Because of the changes in mortgages/lending, we decided to do a sideways move rather than get a bigger/better house to be nearer our childrens school.

Despite the fact we want to borrow 15K LESS and have the deposit and the interest rate would mean we would pay £140 p/m LESS, they will not allow us to remortgage.

Am so fed up. We are existing Halifax customers, have never defaulted on anything etc etc.

What arseholes! They just want to keep you in more debt to get more money out of you, can you remortgage elsewhere? (never owned a home so have no idea )

We would have to have a higher deposit with other lenders, only have 10%.

I think I might appeal if you can appeal such a thing!!!!
