to want to be able to find out how the boiler scrappage scheme works?

Sorry, wasn't sure where to put this.

I want to get a new boiler, and to take advantage of the boiler scrappage scheme. The Energy Saving Trust website says you have to have a quote to get a voucher - but I'm not sure if you have to have a quote from the company you're definitely going to use. I'm still waiting for a couple of quotes, but want to apply for the voucher as early as possible. EST aren't answering their phones - they say you can leave a message and they'll call back, but I haven't heard from them - and now you can't even leave a message for them! Did they not know the scrappage scheme was going to happen?!

Anyway - can anyone help me out, please?

Oh, and the "Contact me" section on their website doesn't work either - it recognises my postcode to find my address, but then tells me that it doesn't recognise it when I try to submit a question. Grrrr!

katkit - thanks for the link. Unfortunately it doesn't answer my specific question, but it has got a couple of useful bits of info that aren't on the EST website - thanks.

We were hoping to take advantage of this too - not sure about the answer because we haven't got that far yet. I assumed the quote would be from the company who were doing the work when you had got it booked in, otherwise the EST could be issuing vouchers for work that never went ahead. So how would they know when the money had run out and when to stop issuing vouchers, IYSWIM. Have no basis in fact for this view though!

I've got a local firm coming tomorrow to quote. British Gas next month and Npower in March! I can only assume they didn't know the scrappage scheme was going to happen either!
