Not at all - 7 months is brilliant! I am BFing for entirely selfish reasons - I keep eating chocolate but losing weight. Now that I have started weaning I will start being selfish and STOP BFing for reasons that are also selfish (libido etc).
Give yourself a break!
And well done...

pigletmania · 18/01/2010 14:41

YANBU congratulations with providing the best start for your lo and getting this far, its up to you tbh not anyone else. If you feel that way i would, you have to want to do it for longer it has to be right for both you and your lo.

gingernutlover · 18/01/2010 14:41

I think you are fab for doing 7 months - seeing as I managed about 7 feeds!

Don't feel guilty, you have given your dd a really good start, wean her off slowly. I expect by now she is having solids too so will gradually want less milk anyway.

I would say you are being sensible to have recognised that you would be happier stopping BFing.

diddl · 18/01/2010 14:41

How long did you feed your first for?

I did feel that it was only "fair" to feed my 2nd for as long as I had my first.

Wasn´t reckoning on the teeth being earlier!

missorinoco · 18/01/2010 14:42

YANBU

pooexplosions · 18/01/2010 14:44

I never understood why people always see "selfish" as a purely negative thing. Doing something for oneself, what is wrong with that?
You're a mother not a martyr, do what you want!

porcamiseria · 18/01/2010 14:47

you did your 6 months, I say you have done fair innings. 6 months BF plus 9 months PG, enough! enjoy!

Vallhala · 18/01/2010 15:11

pooexplosions has got it right. YANBU, now get those trainers out, ditch that feeding bra, go buy some pretty undies to spur you on and ENJOY your freedom.

darkandstormy · 18/01/2010 15:13

I did not breast feed at all out of choice. We all have choice and you are choosing what is right for you now good luck.

Sorry to sound stupid, why can't you run whilst BF? (not at the same time obviously!)

7m is quite good going so I wouldn't feel bad. And people stop for all kinds of reasons.

But I did run whilst BFing. I fed all mine for years so I couldn't put everything else on hold. Just wear a good sports bra and feed before you run.

Really not convinced that stopping breastfeeding will perk up your boobs. Mine always looked better during bfing than after the baby weaned. It's pregnancy hormones that wreck your boobs, not breastfeeding. Sorry

Sounds entirely reasonable to me!!! I ended up running in 2 bras (it worked) but I did LOVE getting my body back.
