To be annoyed that my friends thinks they're the fountain of all knowledge about childcare...

I met up with a pregnant friend this evening and her DH.
I have 2 young children already and I am pg with number 3 but now that she is pregnant, she and her husband spent a lot of the evening spouting off about childcare.

They seemed to have an opinion on everything we could be doing better. Not so much in the "you are doing this wrong..." kind of way, as they didn't actually use those words (would have been fuming if they had) but more that they just came across as know it alls.

Should I be forgiving and take it that they are just having a temporary personality bypass as they are clearly excited about having their first baby? Or am I right to feel a bit peeved off?

i work with 4 year olds and up, it's so funny how parents suddenly admit defeat at that age

I wouldnt' worry about it - went to a second b'day party this week where most of the kids were about to turn 2. Imagine my surprise when it became apparent that the consensus amongst the mums was that discipline was something you cracked between 22 and 26 months. So by 2 1/2 they imagine the whole thing is sorted...

Yeah, right...

Parents2B know practically everything - I know I did before having a child... theory is easy...

Smile sweetly... they are young.. they will learn
