Just wondering if anyone's DC's have made up words that make perfect sense, I only ask after the conversation I had with DS this morning while getting dressed

DS: Mummy I like your boobies

Me: Sorry darling?(puts on bra)

DS: No, noot your boobies, I like your BOOBYPANTS

We have butterpillars and aeroplanecoptors in this house.

Nice sort of catch all word.

Boys2mam · 15/01/2010 21:18

DS1 (almost 6) has "boozes" (bruises)

BooHooMonkey · 15/01/2010 21:20

DD calls her slippers her "slippies" and she's always called blueberries "bubwees".

I like "boobypants" - that's hilarious!

Just thought I'd also share a conversation I had with her this evening:
Me: do you want some toast?
DD: yeah
Me: ok, I'll get some bread out
DD: not bread mummy, toast

roulade · 15/01/2010 21:23

My ds (3) likes to "bloag" this is when you run at full pelt at a bed or a sofa, chuck yourself on it face first while shouting "BLOAG!"
He takes after his father!

lucyellensmumagain · 15/01/2010 21:25

I dont know how it came about but my DD (now 4) calls chocolate bars, Moo bars!

devilsadvocaat · 15/01/2010 21:25

the world according to ds1:

cansporter = car transporter

radioscooter = radiator

StealthPolarBear · 15/01/2010 21:26

mit-man in our house is spider man or gingerbread man, depending on context.
Actually, maybe not any more

BooHooMonkey · 15/01/2010 21:27

The scary thing is that when DS was small, he used to say 'what's your matter?' instead of 'what's the matter with you?'and DH and I still say this!

Boys2mam · 15/01/2010 21:27

DS1 (still almost 6....) calls toast "cooked bread"

BooHooMonkey · 15/01/2010 21:29

Oh and Calpol (or supermarket own brand equivalent ) is still Moo-Cow medicine after he thought it was cow-pol

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 15/01/2010 21:29

oh and cee-cots (apricots)
cee-ceem (ice cream)
cee-cakes (rice cakes)

MrsSawdust · 15/01/2010 21:36

DD aged 17 months says "ba ba" to ask for food or drink. No idea where it came from - she made it up.

StrawberriesandCherries · 15/01/2010 21:40

We have "huggles" - a cross between a hug and a cuddle

kalo12 · 15/01/2010 21:44

my sister used to say pickers for nostrils,

ds says 'toddle' for cuddle and 'ruff-ruff' for water.

GetDownYouWillFall · 15/01/2010 21:47

When my DH was little apparently he used to call
sausages - doddies
fish fingers - shim doddies

croissants - grissles

chickbean · 15/01/2010 21:49

DS1 calls breasts "drinks" - probably from me saying "I'm just giving DS2 a drink".

My brother used to call cement mixers "mixcementers".

TigerDrivesAgain · 15/01/2010 21:49

when DS was small, the stairs were called "backbies" and raisins (sp?) were "enos" (Which I always thought was something to do with Andrews Liver Salts, so whaddu I know).

Now his genitals are "dinkies" and his willy is his "peanut". He also wonders why men have "nimples" on their chest.

I can't bear to correct him.

He is now 37.

crankytwanky · 15/01/2010 21:50

Ooh I love BLOAG!

DD wrote "Bewonderment" in her homework, which I loved, to describe seeing a newborn baby. I didn't correct her, but her teacher wrote "bewilderment" underneath. I preferred hers.

chegirlsgotheartburn · 15/01/2010 21:51

Smenos for snails.

DS has stopped now but me and my mate cant go back to using the proper word.

DS1 used to say leg pits for the bit behind his knees.

My cousin used to call gloves gubs and I still do about 30 years later.

MrsMellowdrummer · 15/01/2010 21:52

Whenever my daughter falls over and grazes herself, she proudly announces... "I've got jam on my knee!".

Mermaidspam · 15/01/2010 21:54

Strawberries - we also have huggles!

We also have "Jes" (Yes). It's only used in a kiddie way, like if someone asks you if you want pizza and ice cream for tea!

GetDownYouWillFall · 15/01/2010 21:55

oh cranky, "bewonderment" is just SO gorgeous! I can't believe the teacher corrected it!

Chegirl - my DD calls gloves "gubs" too! I love it

BooHooMonkey · 15/01/2010 22:02

We still say 'mine' instead of 'my' as well
"Mummy I've hurt mine head!. Maybe DS was Deustch in a former life!

OP posts:
LittlePeanut · 15/01/2010 22:04

Nipples are "nibbles" according to my DD.
