Just wondering if anyone's DC's have made up words that make perfect sense, I only ask after the conversation I had with DS this morning while getting dressed

DS: Mummy I like your boobies

Me: Sorry darling?(puts on bra)

DS: No, noot your boobies, I like your BOOBYPANTS

DD2 insists on asking for a "duddle" whenever she wants a cuddle.

Not a new word but DD1 got "nipple" and "elbow" mixed up. I don't know how or why.

Mermaidspam · 15/01/2010 23:45

Our squash is "dilutey juice"

BigBadMummy · 15/01/2010 23:50

Heli-co-Peters

glid for lid
monk for milk
ambleeance for ambulance
dinky tortoise for drink of water

There are so many in this house it almost like a secret language.

ds2 has invented the concept of "bunnycold"
Bunnycold is when something is nice and soft and cold, like the feel of his cheek on a crisp clean pillow. Or when he grabs a bit of duvet, sighing "oh, its bunnycold" with a contented smile.

seeker · 16/01/2010 00:01

LOVE bunnycold! We have huggles too. One of our family mantras is "You can't refuse a huggle"

wukter · 16/01/2010 00:17

We have huggles too, and cuggles.
Bunnycold - I am glad someone has finally put a word to it.

Linnet · 16/01/2010 00:22

We have huggles as well
and dd1 couldn't say radiator when she was little it was a radi-yurt.
we also has heli-copcop for helicopter and
wo-wo for window.

roulade · 16/01/2010 10:14

Ds also used to call gloves "Cloffies" which was really cute. He doesn't do it anymore

wooferoofuss (not sure hows to spell)
from my brother saying whats for afters

Irons · 16/01/2010 10:21

When I was little I had gooly and cusem = Jelly and custard.

I still call it that today

FerretInYourTrews · 16/01/2010 10:25

When my dh was about 2 he uses to say R is for membow (instead of rainbow) and B is for izzabee. He called bees izzabees for ages. I think it comes from when I used to ay 'look it's a bee'

Zweig · 16/01/2010 10:26

Oh I like bunnycold, that's a useful word!

Not sure I will adopt the use of boobypants though

DD1 uses the word "lasterday" (based on yesterday) to refer to any time in the past eg. Lasterday I saw a robin in the garden. It's very useful, so now we all use it all the time.

My sister said renember until she was in her teens!

earlyriser · 16/01/2010 10:33

dd calls tampons 'blooders'

earlyriser · 16/01/2010 10:36

oh, just read rest of thread, have i lowered the tone?!

joben · 16/01/2010 13:16

My 11 year old DS still offers to 'mirage' (massage) my feet if I'm stressed!

PureAsTheColdDrivenSnow · 16/01/2010 13:21

DS1 says beepot when he means robot

slipper are pippers
penguins are pippins.

MNingatmidnight · 16/01/2010 13:35

Nonoomum - My dd used to call her nipples "ankles".

We use "shnuggles" for a cuddle.

NonnoMum · 16/01/2010 13:42

All v cute. Just remembered: DD1 went into "the raining" with her Daddy (had a shower!)
Bless all their little cotton socks...
