To think that if you have certain budget you have to compromise on somethings when buying a house

I was watching Relocation,Relocation yesterday and this surfer couple wanted a house with a seaview, detatched, character etc etc all for the sum of £250K in a sought after location, they did not see that they had to compromise and that they were asking too much for their budget. It had to take one of the presenters to tell them straight, could they not see it themselves .

They were rejecting some lovely houses that they could make make their own, but it did not live up to their stringent requirements, and they did not have enough imagination to see past the decor or layout. Its not just this couple but many on such house buying progrmmes that really annoy me in this way.

They rejected this beautiful house in a villiage that they wanted, it had 5 bedrooms, it was a character property but it did not have a seaview the sea was only 200 yards away , are they too lazy to walk! AIBU to think that you cannot have it all unless you have an unlimited budget.

YABU because they have only been chosen for te programme as they are twats without two brain cells to rub together determined to get exactly what they want, or the producers have set it up to make them look deliberately difficult so they can have a scripted 'straight-talking' scene.

It is annoying though.

Agree, housebuyers can be nuts! Have worked in an Estate Agents and seen all sorts of madness like this first hand.

We once had buyers wanting to look around a house on the market for £495,000. They'd told us they could get £425,000 max mortgage - so (having checked with the vendors) we told them that they couldn't go on the viewing because they couldn't afford the house. And they were cross about it!
