look old but just look 'like they've had something done..'

I was in a surgery today ( not for myself, for a job I was doing) and saw a couple of older ladies.

One had a trout pout and smooth skin, but turkey neck and wrinkly eye lids, another had a 'surprised' look and smooth forehead, but heavy make up and was still very obviously 50 plus.

Isn't plastic surgery really a waste of money because you might improve one area but other areas will ALWAYS give the age game away.

Heidi Fleiss on Celeb BB is another example !!!

yanbu.

And the worst thing is they all end up looking the exact fucking same as eachother. ugh.

I know. When you are 60 you are not going to look 20. No matter how much work you have done you will look like a 60yr old who's had work done.

I think it is sad that growing old is something to be scared of. We should be proud of our wrinkles, sags and grey hairs. They prove we've lived! In other cultures age = wisdom and respect. Here we worship youth and the older you are the less you are respected, wanted and the young think you know nothing.

I like to think that subtle surgery is the secret. There are plenty of stars who have overdone it. And quite a few who look amazing. They have enhanced their looks eithout trying to make themselves look like 20 year olds. Eg. Susan Sarandon, Meryl Streep, Judi Dench. Of course they may not have had anything done, exercise and good diet etc etc.... But either way, subtle appoach is so much better than the pulled back, not a wrinkle in sight look!!!!

Haven't had anything done, but as I get older I can definately see the appeal. But would need the big bucks to get it done properly and not just yanked back or up etc

I suppose if there are people out there who have had work done and it doesnt look obvious, we wouldn't know about it, iyswim.

But yes, in my experience, I can usually spot placky surgeon fans. Face lifts are totally spottable and weird. They make you look like an old lady with a stretched face, not like a younger woman. Ditto botox. No chemicals can give you that youthful glow that young skin has, even if it smoothes out the wrinkles. A friend had botox recently and I was shocked at how awful it made her look.

Yanbu.

Hands and necks are often a give-away.

the thing is though - when your face gets older it can start to feel like it is no longer yours. I know that sounds weird. But I think more , as I get older, some women are not trying to look younger in a more attractive way - but are trying to stop the process where you look in the mirror and it is so different from the you that you still feel inside that it is quite.....well upsetting at times.

I wouldn't have plastic surgery. I am proud of my age and the life I am living. But my face still shocks me and makes me feel old in a negative way.

Not sure if that makes sense...

God plastic surgery is so subtle you wouldn't know someone had had it. And it doesn't really make people look much younger, just very good for their age.

I have seen some very good ones. MACS lifts are usually the best.
