Neighbours/ Builders & Messy stairwell

I live in a modern flatted development. We have a lift (carpeted) and a communal staircase.

There is a cleaning service which is funded via service charge on Monday & Fridays.

One of the upstairs flats (I know which one because the debris trail leads to their front door) is having some building work done. Whoever is doing it has trekked plasterboard dust & debris all along their landing, into the lift/ along the bottom landing and then to the front door.

It was like this when I got home last night and it is even more obvious today.

I'm a bit pissed off (but haven't done anything yet) as I think either the builders or flat owners should have cleared up the mess at the end of each day.

I'm thinking about dropping a note into their letter box & copying it to the management company but I'm not sure if I'm reacting too strongly?

I know that if it was my builder I'd have cleared up (eg. when I moved in I hoovered the lift out after the removal men left).

YANBU they should definitly clean up at the end of everyday. Do any children live their? what about if they picked something up?

I would ask them to provide some quality fabric dust sheets to protect the carpetting and yes they should be clearing up all communal areas daily.

Not sure how you would word it though - perhaps speak to the management company and ask for advice?
