Is it me or is it ridiculous to buy a £2 car from Asda, that is screwed to the box with a proper tiny screwdriver??? Just picked it up whilst shopping and thought it would be a nice little treat for DS when I picked him up from nursery. But no, he opened the box and it's stuck well and truly to the dam box with a bit of plastic (have managed to break the box around it - only cardboard after all!) but can't find the screwdriver to take the stupid bit of plastic off. Why do they do this, why??? grrrr.

because they come in cargo ships from China and they get unsaleably damaged rattling about otherwise

oh mrsbadger, now i feel even worse about the dam thing. thanks, lesson learnt, this is why i don't usually succumb to supermarket cheapies!

dam it. Now I've just looked at all the boxes of toys we had for Christmas for the DCs from ELC and they're all made in China - why did I just assume things would be made in UK just because they were wooden and traditional?!!

get the Myriad catalogue, which is all impeccably ethically sourced, remind yourself of the astonishing price difference vs Tesco, then give it to MIL for present ideas

They are lovely MrsB but quite expensive if you are on a tight budget.
