To be crossed at my friends flashy outfit when we went sledging?

Not only were her and her three boys dressed in head to toe ski gear but they had a fancy ski / bmx hybrid. I must admit I was concerned about head injuries had her 3 year old hit a bump, but I was too busy pulling up my tights.

I suggest you 'accidentally' email her to point out the error of her ways

ChilloSTOPFOLLOWINGMEhippi · 11/01/2010 14:22

What a bunch of idiots your friends are.

gobsmackedetal · 11/01/2010 14:23

I'm confused. Is this a joke I'm too thick for?

lukewarmcupoftea · 11/01/2010 14:24

Gosh, your friend sounds really shallow

BitOfFun · 11/01/2010 14:24

I suppose if you've got ski gear it's nice to get the chance to use it. So YABU, I think. I though you were going to say she showed up in high heels

muddleduck · 11/01/2010 14:26

YANBU.

unless they were also wearing cycling shorts under all the ski gear...

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 11/01/2010 14:26

Honestly - and those in jeans too

Some got the tube home! Imagine how soggy they made the seats.

It's broken britain

so, if this is a serious post, were they supposed NOT to wear their ski gear to go sledging? Cause I'm sure it kept them dry, that's what skiing suits do

gobsmackedetal · 11/01/2010 14:29

ok, sorry, it looks like I'm spoiling the fun and don't want to

gobsmackedetal · 11/01/2010 14:31

Aaaaah, just found the thread. Off to read it

cheesesarnie · 11/01/2010 14:33

they were showing off obv

thirdname · 11/01/2010 14:38

seems I'm missing something as well, was quite jalous of friend's children who were nice and warm with decent "snow clothes".

pigletmania · 11/01/2010 14:45

YABU better to be dry than wet and get a cold, sounds like on your part to me. I have just got my dd 2.10 ski trousers and they are fab, they keep her warm and dry when playing in the snow, and thats the main thing, dont care what other people say

duchesse · 11/01/2010 14:46

If they have it, why not use it? Snow gear is made for snow- waterproof and warm. It seems silly not to, frankly. It probably only sees the light of day once a year at best unless it snows here as well. YABU.

duchesse · 11/01/2010 14:46

Ah, another thread about a thread.

BitOfFun · 11/01/2010 15:04

This is what happens when I don't spend enough time on MN...must catch up!

kellze · 17/01/2010 02:22

At least her fanny would be warm

kinnies · 17/01/2010 13:34

I would write a strongly worded email

whispers< You do know the thread about a thread law.... dont ya? They will be on their way round as we speak to tar&feather you. Shame really cos I liked your posts.
