To secretly re-tune our radio alarm to Radio 2 for Monday morning

... so that I can listen to Chris Evans first "Wake up" show.

DH is a died-in-the-wool Radio 4 listener and has been waking up to the "Today" programme since - well for as long as I have known him and that takes us back to the mid 1980s.

I can't quite imagine how he will react when he realises he has been woken up by The Ginger One instead of John Humphries! But the radio alarm is on my side of the bed and we have had his choice of breakfast show for nearly a quarter of a century.

Is it fair for me to unleash such a drastic change on him so early in the morning, without any warning?

Why no warning?

DO IT! I canonly cope with Radio 4 from 10, before then it's Radio 1. Saying that I think the reason I retuned was I hate Jo Whiney (sorry Wiley)

i'd wake up depressed if i had to listen to radio 4 first thing

OldLadyKnowsNothing: Because if I suggest it beforehand he will probably be horrified and then go to bed in a bit of a sulk. I thought I would just go for it and see what happens.

OldLadyKnowsNothing · 09/01/2010 20:32

Ah, Ok then. Better he wakes up grumpy than loses a night's sleep over it.

OldLadyKnowsNothing · 11/01/2010 17:21

So, how did it go, then?
