I really really like playing laser quest. It's good exercise and good teambuilding. Not really a fan of guns in general but LQ is hilarious when you jump out on people and you all go 'ARGH!'

I was wondering actually what weird and un-mumsy hobbies other Mumsnetters have?

I used to be really into stand-up comedy too and would love to go back to that. The comedy circuit is like another world.

Really curious what other little pockets of weirdness are out there

I have not, my neighbour does though, she's 36 and goes with her son (lazer thingy).

I used to sit and paint in games workshop with ds

BarkisIsWilling · 27/06/2010 18:15

I'm thinking of trying this out. LQ or Paintball .... undecided.

lazarusb · 27/06/2010 19:13

I love it and spent a huge amount of time playing it in my 20s. I also like collecting animal bones (that I come across- I don't kill them) and I would absolutely love a human skull. They're so smiley

MaryBS · 27/06/2010 19:21

Paintballing hurts more, but is still cracking good fun! Haven't taken any of the children to LQ yet, but we've done the equivalent outside with faces smeared in camouflage cream!

CarmenSanDiego · 27/06/2010 19:21

Lazarus, that's a great answer. Skulls are cool! They freak my MIL out though, which is quite funny.

Bark.. I've never played paintball. Always had a bit of a phobia since PJ got shot in the eye on Byker Grove... I bet it's fun though.

I can't wait until DD is old enough to give this a try. My brother went once and managed to shoot himself

pointydog · 27/06/2010 19:26

I used to play laser quest nearly every weekend with mates when I WAS a 20-something. Much better than playing it with kids.

PurpleCrazyHorse · 27/06/2010 19:40

I also used to hang out at Laser Quest waiting for a group of nice looking boys to turn up then we'd dash in to make up the other team... great fun!

Can't wait for DD to be old enough to do all these fun things

Sibble · 27/06/2010 19:49

We've had laser strike parties. Hire the whole thing then run about in the garden using trees, bushes etc as hide outs. Great fun. The kids didn't get a look in as the adults took over!

Warhammer here [blish]

thisismyclone · 28/06/2010 06:36

Oh Paintballing is sooo much fun! Can't wait to play it again sometime

I play Roller Derby...Does that count?

BarkisIsWilling · 29/06/2010 10:21

Roller Derby is much too athletic for me! Looks mighty cool tho'

CarmenSanDiego · 29/06/2010 15:32

Oh roller derby looks amazing. It seems to be getting popular! I fear I would need to be considerably fitter though It's on my list of 'things I'd love to do if I was thin/had the energy to haul myself off the sofa. Burlesque too although maybe getting a bit old for that.

Zumba looks rather fun too. Has anyone done that?
