To ask dp to take the FHM Calendar down?

It was up at work. I went in to help for a couple of hours and noticed he had it over the top of the usual one.

I said I wouldn't help while it was up and that it was a bad example to his teenage DD who will see it this weekend when she visits.

I don't mind him watching porn but I did mind this as it was more public and also do not like the idea of writing DD's vaccination dates/swimming schedule on such a work calendar.

I think he may have been testing my reaction for a bit of cheap and easy humour but still...

What do you think?

YANBU
Tacky, offensive crap.

agalchchangedhername · 08/01/2010 17:12

God what age is he?? Yuck YANBU!!!

Paolosgirl · 08/01/2010 17:15

YANBU

Tacky in the extreme, and only really appropriate if you're about 15.

frogetyfrog · 08/01/2010 17:17

YANBU. Ok in a teenagers bedroom but not for an adult work environment. Yuk. Saying that my friends dp has a page 3 type calender in his tool shed and the kids play in there. Uhh.

ImSoNotTelling · 08/01/2010 17:18

oooh nasty.

YANBU.

(are you a different person to hobbgoblin?)

GrungeBlobPrimpants · 08/01/2010 17:18

YANBU

Totally unacceptable, particularly in a work environment. What on earth do his female colleagues think?

NomDePlume · 08/01/2010 17:26

naffo and tacky indeed and prob teen DD doesn't need to see Daddy's wank fodder but I did lol at 'also do not like the idea of writing DD's vaccination dates/swimming schedule on such a work calendar'. Sorry

Where does he work?

AnyFucker · 08/01/2010 19:31

nasty and immature of him

UnquietDad · 08/01/2010 19:38

weeeeelll... what's on it? Yes, attractive ladies, obviously, but it what kind of state? Surely the FHM calendar is a little more tasteful than the Loaded or Nuts calendar (assuming such things exist?).

If they are clothed, non-porn women I don't see the problem - after all, lots of you would quite happily have a Daniel Craig/ Richard Armitage/ David Tennant/ Justin Timberpants/ (delete or insert according to taste) calendar up if you could.

UnquietDad · 08/01/2010 19:56

this is last year but I mean if you think this is porn or degrading you need to get a life and address stuff that really is degrading to women, frankly.

issysmilkbottle · 08/01/2010 20:03

you could always visit armed with pritt stick and other images cut out of mags/catalogues such as donkeys, hippos, nerds etc.... Stick over them

shockers · 08/01/2010 20:03

Good point about the alternative male version but I would find that a bit icksome too. There are nicer (non-kitten, thatched cottage) calendars to be had.

pointydig · 08/01/2010 20:03

I need to know the workplace.

Is he a city banker? Or a CAB adviser? Or an icne cream van owner?

pointydig · 08/01/2010 20:03

ice cream van, not acne cream

shockers · 08/01/2010 20:04

or stick big zits and facial hair on them

shockers · 08/01/2010 20:04

I could use an acne cream van right now... it's a bad TOTM.

overmydeadbody · 08/01/2010 20:07

YABU

It's just pretty women, going by previous years. His choice, surely?

overmydeadbody · 08/01/2010 20:09

I love all the assumptions being made on this thread.

GetOrfMoiLand · 08/01/2010 20:10

You could do what I did when I was 7 to my 15 year old uncle's collection of topless/bikini clad gals all over his bedroom.

Get a magic marker and draw smiley faces over the nipples and give them glasses/groucho marx moustaches/blacked out teeth/stubble etc.

He hated it!

He should take it down. Inappropriate in the workplace in this day and age.

UnquietDad · 08/01/2010 23:36

I went to do a visit in a school recently where the librarian had calendars and posters featuring (a) David Tennant and (b) the barely-shaving what's-his-name out of that god-awful desperate Twilight shit up on the wall. I found it amusing.

kslatts · 08/01/2010 23:56

If the calender is like the one UnquietDad linked then I don't really see what the problem is.

hobbgoblin10 · 10/01/2010 11:22

i like the defacement ideas

i can't justify my objection awfully well but i think in a nutshell it's the public lusting, the fact he comes across as a hormonally challenged twonk, and the way it looks to the DC.

OP posts:
diddl · 10/01/2010 12:46

Could that ever be classed as "wank fodder"?

It looks more as if it´s aimed at teenaged girls!
