Just because you can't see the other person it doesn't mean they aren't real, or that they can't be hurt by peoples comments and nasty digs!!!

And I'm not talking about me, and I'm not naming names, I just think people should try to be a bit more considerate of each others feeling sometimes!!!

Nobody was horrible to her on the teachers thread, tbh. Teachers were just defending themselves from her (and others') 'teaching is easy peasy/ teachers are childcare' comments. She also got some good advice for her dh who is thinking of teaching. But I can see why she is pissed off about the other thread...I just think you have to avoid certain posters who you feel post purely to provoke you (something I think I need to bear in mind at times). I imagine Riven will be back anyway - she usually is - and hopefully can just avoid anything involving the other poster if it is going to upset her.

I agree with OP that people should think of others' feelings, but also with BOF that people have to take responsibility for themselves. Also, we don't want a situation where it's all huggy and hunny and people have to remember that if they give it out, they also have to accept it when it's given back.

Didn't post on the Wootton thread. And only posted briefly on the teachers thread - thought it was meant to be light-hearted - was when I left it.

Sometimes there is an aspect of ganging up and bullying on here, and also sometimes people get away with a lot of shit throwing because they are a regular and have a little fan club to back them even when they are being a twant.

I will be very sad to see Riven go though as she has been very lovely to me in the past

As for wooton basset, I think any extremist marching there must not be allowed, how ever I know someone will say that they have a right to, their point of view is as valid as mine even if it is wrong

sadly when rl is not going well it is way to easy to take things like mn way to seriously, something that normally would just make you becomes a big deal.
sad that people decide to leave over something so silly. espically when they have had loads of support on here, hope she comes back soon

as already stated, she did not get badly treated on the teachers thread, thats just not true.

Some are worse than others-even if you don't start them! You need a thick skin, or hard hat, to comment on HE or breast feeding!
