both driving on ungritted roads both talking on mobiles (and no not hands free either)

One was even turning a corner (and so heading to the crossing that my son and I were just crossing)

I didn't take their reg - should have - though the cynic in my thinks nothing would have come of it even if I had

If idiots like that want to kill themselves, then I'd be glad to see them out of the gene pool (even the shallow end) but nothing justifies anyone putting other road users and pedestrians at risk like this.

purpleduck · 06/01/2010 16:03

yabu

You should have pelted them with snowballs

Pikelit · 06/01/2010 16:04

Fuckwits! I'm far more bothered about other drivers than I am with my own (proven) ability to drive on snow and ice!

CirrhosisByTheSea · 06/01/2010 16:24

I've seen this today. Some people just really stagger you don't they with their stupidity. Agree with you DTsGirl....if only it were just themselves they were putting at risk!

lisad123wantsherquoteinDM · 06/01/2010 16:26

i saw one this morning, in a side road and they let their child (about 7years) get into the back of a van, that clearly had no seats or windows!!

ImSoNotTelling · 06/01/2010 16:37

The last snowfall some burk in a van was driving as quickly as he could round and round our road and the adjoining ones - skidding out at the corners and losing traction etc it was v icy and ungritted.

Wanker. He beeped at me to mind myself as he skidded round the corner next to where I was pushing DD2 in pushchair and holding DD1 hand. Complete cock.

peppapighastakenovermylife · 06/01/2010 17:06

People have been driving right up behind me today and over taking. It wasnt even as if I have been going slowly - pretty much been doing the speed limit give or take a few icy patches. Ridiculous!

AKMD · 06/01/2010 17:18

Peppapig This happens to me even without snow. The second time I was doing 30 and some idiot turned on his full beams and overtook me in a place that forced me off the road, I took his registration number and called the police. Local van, police had a word, job done.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 06/01/2010 17:23

Buddeja I saw a driver in a Met Police van doing the very same this morning. I took his reg but haven't called the Station yet. Was wondering whether to bother, but this was a Police van fgs

Jamieandhismagictorch · 06/01/2010 17:31

Have just reported it !

Buddleja · 06/01/2010 17:33

Police van

What did they day when you reported it? Wonder if anything will be done?

Jamieandhismagictorch · 06/01/2010 17:41

They just took the report in the duty office and said it will be passed on.

She asked if it was a mobile or a radio, but I'm sure it was a mobile. It wasn't a sort of Blue Light van for catching and transporting crims, but (ironically) a Safer Neighbourhoods one.

Pisses me off because there are loads of drivers using mobiles round here - during the school run, and I've spoken to the Neighbourhood team (who are out and about all the time keeping an eye on antisocial behaviour).

Jamieandhismagictorch · 06/01/2010 17:48

Inspector from local station has just called me and asked if I am happy for him to give the person in question a "bollocking" (!). I said of course

MegSophandEmma · 06/01/2010 17:57

Good for you JAHMT

bronze · 06/01/2010 17:59

I was crossing the road on the way back from pickking dd up earlier. Its a 30 through a village and it was icy though not very snowy. Car full of lads drove past at about 50 and stuck their fingers up at me when I gesticulated (in a polite way) at them
