To go back to bed as soon as dp gets in from work because I can't cope with the dc anymore?

I really can't cope today .
DS and DD age 12 and 10 are been awful I really can't stand it.
The lo's are been good but are bored I can't get out of the house and the baby woke twice in the night and I am feeling so tired.
I don't know how to discipline the eldest they just answer me back it sounds so pathetic but I just want to run away from it all and let them get on with it.

Oh and both times I have got the baby to sleep she has been woken back up within 10 minutes.

Trust me to get a baby who needs quiet to sleep in such a noisy house as this.

Bloody snow, I'm guessing that's why DCs aren't at school where they should be.

I know it probably doesn't help much but can you put the baby in the pram and go for a walk, you know the crying always sounds quieter outdoors, make the older ones come with you and throw snowballs at each other, (although at 12 and 10 you could leave them at home and pop round to a neighbours for a cuppa if that sounds like a better option.)

YADNBU to go straight to bed when DP gets home and order a takeaway for tea if he's no good at cooking.

YANBU... I've only got DD 2.4 at home and I'm supposed to be working but can't. I would give anything to be able to hand her over to someone else for a couple of hours while I went to bed. No chance of that as occasional "DP" won't be around for ages. And, my DD is really a little angel.

If you get the chance later, I say go for it and have a few zzzzs for me!

BirdyArms · 06/01/2010 15:12

YANBU. I had a dreadful post school few hours yesterday so am feeling very empathetic. Very very hard work when you've just had enough of them. View it as an endurance test with a goal of trying not to do or say anything that you'll regret later. Hope your DH is back soon.

Thankyou everyone I am just feeling very sorry for myself.

No chance of getting out we have huge snow and have to go down very slippy steep steps to get out of the garden.

LO's are playing Peppa pig on the wii now and baby is playing happily for 10 minutes.

Loubie tea is sorted thank goodness I have chicken curry in the slow cooker.

DP will be back soon he is only working till 4 and I think he is getting a lift home.

YADNBU! my 17 yr old just came in woke the yougest! She days away from chicken pox I think as 8yr old has it also, and very clingy when awake. typing one fingered here with her snuggling up.
All 4 of them home now, I'll be off to bed early today when DH gets in also.

Comewhinewithme · 06/01/2010 15:24

Five that sounds rubbish . I don't know what is up with the baby she is not ill but she wants snuggling all the time which is lovely and if I don't hold her she sits and shouts booby over and over again (her first word was booby not mamma or dad ).

I think I will retire to bed with a book and some chocolate later .

She's 18m old rosie red cheeks atm. Nappies from hell, and would climb back inside me if she could. I'll retire to bed for sleep soon, not enough energy for a book as having the pregnancy from hell, nothing serious but every annoying niggle going.
Enjoy your peace time later.

Comewhinewithme · 06/01/2010 15:40

Oh dear hope she gets over it soon.
Sorry you are having a bad time with the PG congratulations though .

I'm sure she'll be fine once the spots come out. From past experience just before is the grizzly time. Thanks though, enjoy your peace later.

I am looking forward to a very long hot shower when DP gets in and dinner is finished, from the shower I can see the TV so I put the subtitles on and stand in the shower and watch TV it's like an oasis of peace, I cannot hear the noise downstairs, I so take my time then dry my hair at my leisure.
