A friend of ours was in Scotland over Xmas and Hogmanay and I contacted him on FB jokingly asking him to bring me a couple of cans of Irn Bru (we live in the Philippines and can't get it here). He sent me a message tonight saying that he had expected me to run to his office with a kiss and a hug today. Why? I asks... for the Irn Bru I sent home with Mr Fulton for you.....

DH is right next to me and says 'Oh, I don't have it anymore. I drank both cans' As blasé as you like. Fucker!

AND he ate my post-birth toast when DC1 was born cos he 'didn't think I'd be hungry'. Oh! I am seething!!!!!!!!!

eh?

GetOrfMoiLand · 06/01/2010 11:52

Fulton - that is indeed bloody selfish. The miserable git should have saved you a can.

DD's father drank the WHOLE POT of post natal tea in the birthing room. The bastard.

FultonMcKay · 06/01/2010 11:52

He drank my gifted Irn Bru, he DRANK it!!!! HE DRANK IT and didn't even mention it to me

Hanging's too good for someone like that, FultonMcKay. It's worse than the time my dh promised to bring me a special cake home, then said that the cake shop didn't have any left, only to reveal accidentally, later on, that the cake shop had had two left, and he'd eaten them both!!

ObsidianBlackbirdMcNight · 06/01/2010 12:09

Fucker. I think you should divorce him forthwith.

meltedmarsbars · 06/01/2010 12:10

Lets hope he broke a tooth on the iron girder at the bottom of the can!

MadreInglese · 06/01/2010 12:10

Definitely grounds for divorce

unreasonable irn bru drinking

JackBauerisreadyforDay8 · 06/01/2010 12:13

Make him sleep in the snow until he has figured out how to make Irnbru.
The bastard.

GetOrfMoiLand · 06/01/2010 12:13

Mind you, I think you have to be Scots to like Irn Bru. My brother (half bro, his dad is from Glasgow) mainlines the stuff, however he lives in LA and can only get it in select shops very rarely.

He said when he landed at heathrow a couple of weeks ago first thing he did was buy a bottle of the stuff and down it.

ChippingIn · 06/01/2010 12:26

YANBU - he was being a selfish twat and should be punished.... loo cleaning all year maybe??

Hullygully · 06/01/2010 12:30

kill him

VinegarTits · 06/01/2010 12:35

thats nothing compared to my ex, when our ds was in hospital very very ill and i had not slept or moved from his side for a week, my ex came to visit and drank my bottle of locazade while i had a bath, i went to drink it at 3am and found the bottle was empty

FultonMcKay · 06/01/2010 12:53

'Tis done, I have 'taken care' of him. Now, who wants to come round to mine for some fresh, home-made Burn's Supper haggis? No animal by-products just DH's?

Are you not going to be wearing them as earrings?

purpleduck · 06/01/2010 13:13

op, I feel for you!Can I mail you some? Is that allowed? Let me know and I would be happy to.

BTW, I would KILL dh if he ever ate my canadian stuff that relatives bring over.

IvaNighSpare · 06/01/2010 13:25

made me think of www.irn-bru.co.uk/advert/snowman.html this.....

Calamansi · 06/01/2010 13:29

Fulton - don't they sell iron bru in the comissory store(spelling?) at ADB?

Bathsheba · 06/01/2010 13:30

Oh no...I feel so bad as I'm reading this while drinking irn bru...and now I know you have none...

Frankly I'd kill him

Calamansi · 06/01/2010 13:32

There is also a British store in Alabang full of hoolahoops and Marmite - if they don't sell IB I'm sure they;d get some in for you. As you can tell I missed British goodies when we lived in Manila !

treedelivery · 06/01/2010 13:33

Sounds like he owes you a weekend in Scotland, in a lovely hotel. Instead of flowers etc in the romantic room, he culd organise IrnBru.

Then go away and leave you to enjoy some dvd's and good books in peace.

mozette · 06/01/2010 13:45

Hahahahahahaha! You would have done the same apart from you would have told him you drank both cans just to torment him!

I will sit at home tonight drinking Irn-Bru and eating outsiders of bread with Galloway Cheese just to make it hurt that wee bit more!

ArizonaBarker · 06/01/2010 13:53

He doesnt love you.

FultonMcKay · 06/01/2010 21:34

Mozette I would NEVER have done that and you are a witch! Clamansi - I am not allowed access to ADB store . I am not barred or anything but not an employee. Never been out to Alabang to brit store yet. You can buy (fat) irn Bru in a shop in Cebu but it is very expensive and not there too often. I am okay living without it but it would have been nice for him to have shared MY drink that I asked for. I would have shared with him!!!!
