Tedious self-congratulatory bollocks!

All the papers are doing it. And the television. Every NY it's the same. DH always has a snigger at the steam coming out of my ears. And...joy of joys...it's the end of a decade! So even more media masturbation over it's own brilliance

Why is our own recent history so obsessively interesting? We were either there so we know already or it passed us by because we weren't interested in the first place!

Like a nation's own round robin to itself..

Grrrrr!

ive never watched any of them, isnt it just a 'clever' way of making us watch repeats all clipped and snipped up?

loada shite imo!

although i do enjoy the big fat quiz of the year!

OrmIrian · 05/01/2010 22:02

Unfortunately dp loves them, thank god for MN

Utterly agree. Boring lists lists lists in the weekend papers.

And I hate the list programmes on telly.

Even worse this year as they gave all decided it is the end of the decade (which I take issue with but won't start on that as it's been on another thread.)

Numberfour · 05/01/2010 22:44

you are not alone. i am here with. though we're far apart. you're always in my heart......

YAdefNBU

I detest them! and watch them when i have no will to do anything else.

OrmIrian · 06/01/2010 10:03

Good! Glad I am not alone.

It's mainly the papers that wind me up. I can ignore the TV mostly. But the Independent is terrible for this. And then The Indie on Sunday joins in with the same old shite.

We don't have the memory of goldfish. We can remember it if it was significant enough to remember. The words 'dog' and 'vomit' spring to mind!

Running up to Christmas it's all lists of presents running to billions of pages, with every single idea coming from a different website, which would entail massive postage costs.

Then it's lists of must-have books/albums/films for Christmas.

Then after Christmas it's lists of things in the sales (again one item from each sale.)

And reviews of the year/decade in every conceivable area from politics to gardening.

Oh and a new one last weekend - new years resolutions - more lists.
