no,thats not me!! yes,quite scary....am wondering who has a c and p now!!

BigusBumus · 06/01/2010 20:38

Phew!!

Other person has a C like 70s tennis star and a P like singer from the Ordinary Boys. (putting it like that in case it ever comes up on Google or something). She's lovely anyway.

Right, back to anonymity!

GoldenSnitch · 07/01/2010 21:41

BigusBumus - yes DS goes off in the cage thing on his own. I used to go with him but as I got more and more pregnant with DD, it got harder to follow him. We tend to go with a group of friends though so he always has someone to go in with.

I just signed him up for another annual pass so we'll be going a lot this year too and he'll have to go in on his own again while I sit on the outside with DD - although I have seen one woman go in with her child in a sling!

Does anyone go to Pushchairs in the Park? DS loves that.

monkeyfeathers · 07/01/2010 21:52

GoldenSnitch: you must live very near me. There's just the m1 separating me from NE MK.

GoldenSnitch · 07/01/2010 21:58

Yes, we must be close. There's only Blakelands between us and the M1

monkeyfeathers · 07/01/2010 22:10

We definitely are, but you already knew that.

I just got a really confusing text from the school closures alert system saying that DS1's school is closed tomorrow but that it will open at 10 unless conditions change. DP'll have to phone them in the morning to find out what exactly they mean.

GoldenSnitch · 07/01/2010 22:22

already knew that? Do you think we know each other Monkeyfeathers?

monkeyfeathers · 07/01/2010 22:44

No. I meant that there's not much (just) the other side of the m1 from NE MK so you'd already know where I was and that it was close.

I sincerely doubt we know each other. I don't know anyone.

dopeydoot · 08/01/2010 01:26

monkeyfeathers, we got one of those texts too.

I think that somebody has thought that they will be cunning and set the school text closures thingy to always start the text message to say that XXX school closed, thinking that the head will then give the reason why.

But that they have not thought it through and not realised that they also get used to send out updates about when the closures finish (ie reopen) as well when the closures start.

When I checked our school on the MK school closures site it just said it was opening again tomorrow, not preceded by the school closed bit.

Can't believe I am posting this late - am trying to finish a report (working at home thanks to kiddies having snow days) and it just hasn't happened. now need an asleep smiley coz that's what I am really.

Has anybody ventured very far today to know what grid roads are like and what estate roads are like?

monkeyfeathers · 08/01/2010 09:31

I see. But DS's school was open yesterday so I'd've assumed it would be today. I guess they were trying to say it would be closed for an hour this morning but didn't phrase the message very well.

GoldenSnitch · 08/01/2010 20:38

Ah, I see. How come you don't know anyone Monkeyfeathers? Have you lived here long?

monkeyfeathers · 08/01/2010 20:52

Long enough that I should know someone, but I don't.

I've been here less than 2 years, but up until I had DS2 I worked full-time and DP lived 100-odd miles away. So I never got round to meeting anyone. I did try going to a baby group after DS2 was born but it didn't seem worth the effort to get to know people when Im going back to work (too) soon and I'll have no time again.

So now both DP and I live here and know no-one between us.

GoldenSnitch · 08/01/2010 21:06

I've been here for about 7 years now and am very lucky that I've made quite a few new friends. Probably helped that I married a local boy too

When do you go back to work? We go to a few lovely, friendly groups you might like? I made some great friends at my Antenatal class and now we meet up with the kids and have a girls night out once a month too - it doesn't have to be all toddler groups and soft play

monkeyfeathers · 08/01/2010 21:59

I go back on feb 1st. Boo!

I wish I could stay off longer, but then we'd starve etc.

GoldenSnitch · 09/01/2010 19:54

i've got another 3 weeks till I can get out and about properly so i'm stuck till the end of jan for all but the GP toddler group

monkeyfeathers · 09/01/2010 23:18

Why're you stuck in for the next 3 weeks?

GoldenSnitch · 10/01/2010 09:08

I had a c-section 3 weeks ago and can't drive for another 3 weeks.

I really don't fancy the bus with a 2 year old and a newborn!!
