I am sitting here watching the paper chuck out reams of paper in the name of writing an essay and doing research.

The invention of the pc and internet was supposed to make paper obsolute.

AIBU to think that the paperwork is actually worse now.

I am drowning in paper.

I hardly ever print anything, but I guess it depends on where you work and what your job is

So true, I know when I worked in an office a year ago, we used to print off everything and keep a hard copy. There were files full of paper everywhere.

I know what you mean WCTR. Where I was this was what it was like a few years ago.

I work with a lot of twenty somethings & none of us every print anything much off anymore. I print about once every 3 months. The one who prints the most is over 60.

Perhaps its a generational thing, but I've stopped myself printing now to keep my desk nice & zen!

Our printer here at home is out of expensive ink so thats another way to give it up!!! :D

Remember to recycle it all!

GetOrfMoiLand · 05/01/2010 13:04

My colleague (over 50) prints everything and files it. I don't. Think it is definitely a generation thing.

My (old) office has gone all flexible working and everyone only has a small locker (we all used to have a set of drawers and a medium sized bookcase). Any papers have to be kept in group storage as they belong to everyone and anyone should be able to access them. Since then, noone seems to need to print reams of stuff out.

I used to work in an office where they printed purchase orders on 90g paper before faxing them to suppliers as "it looks more professional and we've always done it that way".

i am statistical crunching and data anlysising. the invention of the internet is great as there is so much information available. the invention of the internet is overwhelming as there is so much information available.

the printer is still going. it'll overheat at this rate.
