More snow in the night which just adds to the layer of ice covering my route to school.
Yes ok school is only 5 minutes away (walking) but I actually like having dd at home and was sad about her going back to school today so I would love another day playing Junior Monopoly with her and ds.

SO AIBU to want one more day at home with the dc's before school and nursery starts? They have already shut the next closest school to us and schools across the town are shutting every few minutes so please can I cross my fingers and hope we do as well?

YANBU

But I'm glad mine have gone (just got on the bus!). Another day o all 3 of them cooped up in the house was going to be a bit much!

YANBU

I have our local radio on as we speak, they're goign to update the list oclosed schools in a few mins

DH is on his way home, he couldn't get to work either

Another family day at home

IneedacleanerIamalazyslattern · 05/01/2010 08:08

That is another 7 schools in town shut and a few pretty close by so am hoping.
A lot of our teachers stay out of town and there is according to the radio chaos on the roads into town and horrible conditions.

I'm fratically refreshing the page on the council website just now but so far we're still open.

Hope you get your family day pheebe.

Better get her into uniform just in case I suppose.

we have a reeaally thin layer so i doubt anything will be closed, BUT the roads and pavements are lethal with ice. Luckily my daughter is getting a lift to school today, although not sure its safer at least the cars are only going very very slowly!

imhoping for snow tonight as my husband is away at the moment and traelling back today so it would be perfect if he got home safe then we all got snowed in together tonight

I've kept my two off school; heavy snow here and the journey is awful along little back ungritted hilly roads. We are making cakes later which is very educational "See Mammy get fatter"!

littlemoominmamma · 05/01/2010 09:16

Just dropped my two off and heavy snow started on the way home, car sliding about everywhere! Wont be able to pick them up by car so will have to walk in snow for an hour to get them, IF i can actually get down from the rather large hill we live on? (think peppa pigs house...!!!) Poo!

Well our school never shut but dd at home anyway she had been moaning about a sore ear as she often does when she doesn't fancy school so unsypathetic mummy told her she was going in that's final ...until I went to brush her hair and half of it was stuck to the side of her head with the gunk coming out of her ear oops.
She has had a cold and it is usually followed by an ear infection and a few days of sobbing so we are going to the dr later on.

well its clouded over here and we are forcast heavy snow during the day, my daughters school is nearly 2 miles away which I have to walk. If it starts snowing badly during the day I am going to get her earlier as I dont fancy walking 2 miles with the massive double in the snow while being sick (morning sickness). Im hoping the school will give her back if it comes to that!
