... instead of spending some time with our son or me. He seems to be spending most of his days off like that and it's really getting to me. When I ask to look after the baby for some time he just puts him in front of TV - WTF?!!

I feel like I want to leave the house on weekends, he and the bloody TV annoy me so much.

AIBU if I want to tell him to f*** off on days like that?

YANBU. My DH is a telly addict whereas I never have the TV on other than Cbeebies to amuse the kids from time to time.

Can you not arrange to go out on his days off as a family even something ordinary like a trip to town/park or trip out to see friends. Anything other than sitting at home.

YANBU...my boyfriend...comes rounfd to my house, eats his dinner ,watches Tv , falls asleep on the settee and never thinks of going out. He doesnt drink and it never occurs to him that i might like a night out.

You have my deepest sympathy. it doesnt get any easier. its like having an old man around the house

ALypaly: then why have him round the house? Why not tell him he can eat his dinner, watch TV and sleep on the settee in his own house?

i know solid gold...im stuck in a rut at the moment and dont quite know how to get out of it. Its one of those relationships thats turned into a frienship that is drifting and i dont know how to escape.

I think you need to tell him that you just won't put up with that for your child. There is time when your child is in bed for him to watch tv. Your child needs his father to be getting off his lardy bum. What kind of example is that to set? Thing is this would be non negotiable for me. I simply couldn't bear my DH to be vegetating in front of the tv all weekend. It's such a waste of life.

Can you ask him for a proper chat with you and make plans to do things differently from now on?

my dp like this too except its the xbox as well, for hours then gets annoyed when the kids disturb him or run in front of the telly.

he also watches telly till 3 or 4 in the morning
