I am not normally a sensitive soul and usually things pass me by without me even registering, but this has really irritated me!

I work for a large international corporation who recently held their first ever 'Women's Leadership Summit' The logo for this prestigious event promoting and supporting women in the workplace was a picture of a red stiletto. Could they not have found a less sexist image??

I don't think it is that big a deal tbh.

UpsyOne · 28/12/2009 20:54

YANBU - are they taking the piss? Why not add a lipstick and a handbag whilst they're at it.

fairycake123 · 28/12/2009 20:55

LOL well all girls love shoes so what's your problem LOL?!?!?!?

Yes, it's fucking moronic, stereotypical and depressing. Worth protesting against? Not in my opinion. Save your energy for shoe shopping [sigh]

GeekIsGood · 28/12/2009 21:00

YANBU. If I saw a poster advertising some professional men's gathering illustrated by a big blue football I would think it was very patronising and not serious.

MerryXmasMrsHenry · 28/12/2009 21:02

Seeing as a red stiletto was the signature image for The Devil Wears Prada...are they saying they align themselves with the feminist ideals laid out in that film?

YANBU. They are totally lacking in imagination and have clearly mis-read their audience.

ImSoNotTelling · 28/12/2009 21:03

YANBU ludicrous.

snowedinwithJjandtheBean · 28/12/2009 21:05

YANBU

i farking hate stilettos and any heels for that matter so completely sexist!

MaggieMnaSneachta · 28/12/2009 21:07

I would find that logo really inappropriate. a stiletto panders to a male idea of female sexuality, and surely the emphasis should be on women as business people - allowing us (women) to take how we're perceived by men out of the equation.
