Not to tell DH I've scraped the car?

I only passed five months ago and now I've just (slightly, not very noticeably) scraped the front left bumper .

He's back late tonight so won't see in the dark, how does one get these things repaired? And will they do it sort of whilst you wait?

Thanks!

Let him drive it tomorrow. and park it somewhere (maybe supermarket)
Then you can blame someone going into the car.

You need to tell him in case he has a bump himself.

DollyMessiter · 28/12/2009 13:33

You had an accident in the car.
Either arrange to get it fixed, or tell your DH so he can arrange it.
Either way, don't skulk around like a naughty child.
You're an adult who had an accident.
No biggie

DollyMessiter · 28/12/2009 13:34

Bumpers are there to be scraped, btw. If it really is just a scrape, it prob won't need fixing.

andirobobo · 28/12/2009 13:50

Depends whether you have any DC's who will tell on your behalf - even if you dont want them to! No secrets around here!!

nothingofthesort · 28/12/2009 13:51

You should tell him. I scraped the car once on our garage door and I had it repainted at a garage. He was abroad at the time. He still does not know 6 years on .

nothingofthesort · 28/12/2009 13:52

When you're new to driving it just feels like a big deal. It honestly isn't and he I'm sure he will not care.

If he's anything like my DH he will enjoy taking the piss for a while but ask him how many times he has scraped a car in his years driving and it will be more than you!

fin54 · 28/12/2009 14:25

I have done it loads of times and never told him but alway's get caught, no big deal its a lump of metal at the end of the day and life is more important

Depends on whose car it is! If its a shared car or his, I would tell him. If its your car then forget about it.

If it had been the other way round and he'd scraped the car, would he be biting his nails as to whether to tell you?

Thought not.
