to be hoping some wine is left...

Me and DP got several nice looking bottles of wine off our friends over Christmas (in particular three bottles off my ex who is a bit of a wine expert and always gives us lovely wine). I barely drink these days as I have just had a baby who I am breastfeeding but DP does drink quite a lot. We are pretty skint so nice wine is a real treat.

I am staying at my parents with the kids at the mo for Christmas, he is joining me on New years eve and we are all going back on the 5th of Jan. With no kids in the house and work presumably pretty relaxed at this time of year, DP will definitely be drinking.

AIBU to hope he is at least drinking cheap lager from the offy? Or should I just let him drink it, as it was presents to us both and I hardly drink anyway? Am I being scrogge-like to want him to be drinking cheapo stuff at this festive time of year?

Scrogge-like = scrooge-like, obv.

Don't see why you can't have the odd glass of the nice wine with him over New Year, in moderation. He should def save the nice wine for both of you. I could send him some of my home made plum

That reminds me, he has his own bizarre home made blackberry based thing. It started off as an attempt at cordial but then started to ferment and he encouraged it by mixing in more substances that he got from a brewing shop. God knows what it is now! I could encourage him to drink that while i'm not about to get irritated with him

id stick your name on a couple of those bottles! or hide them....until you can both have a glass!

ButterPie · 27/12/2009 21:23

I can't! They are at our house near Newcastle, I am at my parents near Preston. I will have to trust him...eek!

Maybe hide one bottle? And invest in a Vacu-Vin pump! They are brilliant, can make a bottle of wine last up to a week!

Good glugging to you!

oh id not leave it to chance! id tell him to save some of the good wine until i got back!
