JackTheHallsWithBauersOfHolly · 27/12/2009 00:53

I know, I was saying it should say DILLIGAChristmasFuck.

Dilligaf is mine and MIL's word for when DH's cousins/her nieces are being twats.

I quite like them.

TLESinChristmasStockings · 27/12/2009 00:55

LOL I love that word but I also think Kevin Bloody Wilson who frequently uses it is blinding!

LOL Those trousers are errrr garish

JackTheHallsWithBauersOfHolly · 27/12/2009 00:56

I had a pair like that when I was smaller. like about 5 when the voice in your head that say s
'Erm, have you tried a mirror before you go out? Are you sure about that outift?'
hasn't been born yet.

TLESinChristmasStockings · 27/12/2009 01:01

Tortington · 27/12/2009 01:05

I posted this on one such thread...

i think it is perfectly acceptable to be upset when family isn't thoughtful at Xmas.

This is perfectly different from being ungrateful about being given bath salts that you don't want.

TLESinChristmasStockings · 27/12/2009 01:07

Custy did you get bath salts??

Tortington · 27/12/2009 01:09

i got some bath stuff. it was lovely. there are lots of creams and potions in a fancy bag which n turn was in a fancy box. I adore this stuff and hope that i am grateful for the loving thought put into the presents i recieved.

TLESinChristmasStockings · 27/12/2009 01:13

I was actually disappointed that this year i didn't get bath stuff....sad I know lol.
But I did from my mum get my usual presents from my star Pj's and a soft toy, My star is my dad....
and every year he would buy me Pjs and either a ring, earrings, collectable doll or a soft toy. Mum has carried on doing it with me...

Tortington · 27/12/2009 01:15

that's lovely. I too love bath stuff - i realis the cliche ( hence why i used it) but will have a great time pampering.

BitOfFunWithRudolph · 27/12/2009 04:04

I think that nice gifts, like a good pair of boots or something, should be acknowledged. But if someone doesn't bother, that's ok too. Not everyone attaches the same value to things. Even if it comes across as rude.

skihorse · 27/12/2009 05:01

YANBU - Most people need to GAFG!

TLESinChristmasStockings · 27/12/2009 05:05

We were having this discussion among friends a week or so ago.
One of them asked what I wanted and i said
I would prefer 100 pressies worth £1 each rather than 1 pressie worth £100. They couldn't understand where i was coming from.

JackTheHallsWithBauersOfHolly · 27/12/2009 07:52

But then how do you decide what to buy for people? I know my best friend would be happy with a chocolate bar so I make her loads of stuff.
Some of my other friends like things that cost loads of money and are prestigious, which I can't afford, the one year I gave people biscuits and sweets that I made a few people openly sneered at them, so unfortunately they now get nothing as I can't afford anything that would please them.

JackTheHallsWithBauersOfHolly · 27/12/2009 08:27

That question wasn't aimed at anyone in particular tbh, I wqas just musing.

I must step away from the gift threads before my head explodes and my ears start bleeding...
