Ilove our tree asit's always a real one and has a lovely smell- but I get sick to death of the sight of the cards which fall over, fall off places and are just a pain.

MIne is coming down on New Years day, if I had my own way it'd be down tomorrow.

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 26/12/2009 10:54

You lot are so grumpy.

Elfytigga · 26/12/2009 18:28

YANBU, glad it's not just me then.

I'm going to take mine down on Monday, after the outlaws have ben. I don;t want to hear another Xmas song either.

expatinscotland · 26/12/2009 18:43

Dd1 wants to take it down.

rowingboat · 27/12/2009 00:17

Purplepeony - that is the one thing I miss about a real tree - the lovely smell.
Oh well I could always splash Toilet Duck around the sitting room.

mistletoemulledwinemoodlum · 28/12/2009 20:55

DH has just taken it down without asking.

I know I wanted it down, but I feel ROBBED, I tell you.

mine went down today. What a relief

But then my house is an absolute tip at the mo.. seriously it's kim and aggie special but with no dirt and I started to feel panicky at the thought of delaying the decluttering and tidying another day.

Dp blitzed the front room and it took all day to clear our bedroom.

We are going to get the house sorted in 2010

sheepgomeep · 29/12/2009 01:28

ours went up on the 29 nov glad its away till next year now

BitOfFun · 29/12/2009 01:30

Mine might come down tomorrow. A fortnight with a tree shedding is enough, and we'll have fun burning it for kindling.

piscesmoon · 29/12/2009 08:20

I knew we would have a thread on this, because people put them up at the beginning of December! I think people should do it all in November and get it over with!! It is Christmas-my tree isn't coming down-however it didn't go up until it was close to the date.

norfolkBRONZEturkey · 29/12/2009 08:41

Mine came down yesterday. It went up the weekend before Christmas
We just don't have the room especially with all the new stuff

piscesmoon · 29/12/2009 08:46

I think it is fair enough if you just don't like the clutter, but it seems mad to put it up end Nov/early Dec and then take it down before New Year.

NormaSknockers · 29/12/2009 09:27

YANBU - I so want to take mine down but we're having my Nana over tomorrow for Christmas dinner (found out she & her hubby were on their own on the day & I was so upset so DH suggested we have a belated Christmas with them!) so keeping it up for that. I love it when it goes up but it soon loses its appeal as I spend all my time picking baubles up off the floor & hanging them back up when the dog/DS pulls/shakes them off!

SheikYerbouti · 29/12/2009 09:39

I cannot WAIT to take mine down

I farking hate Christmas [grinch]

MonnowCyclist · 29/12/2009 09:42

ooo, New Year's Eve latest - absolutely love them going up but after Boxing Day increasingly desperate to get 'em down & have my house back

JustKeepSparkling · 29/12/2009 10:30

Ours coming down today, i've had enough of the clutter, and want to pack all the boxes back in the loft!

MumsieNonna · 29/12/2009 10:52

Usually I take ours down on New Year's Eve. This year I will not have to as I didn't even bother to put one up anyway (grinch). Of course, everything may be different next year as GD will be 14 months old and I will probably turn the house into a pagan grotto.

FanjolinaJolie · 29/12/2009 10:53

Our came dowm on boxing day, but we'd got it v early (1 or 2 Dec) and it was really a bald tree with a million needles all over the house which are still being found and hoovered up.

Think next year we'll not get it so early so it will last a bit longer.

Cybilshoeboots · 29/12/2009 10:59

ironically, this years tree is the best we have ever had. no needle drops, And I havent given it a sniff of water. I may hold off for another day...

schiaparellipink · 29/12/2009 11:22

i've just taken ours down and hoovering up all the needles has killed my Henry

lilac21 · 29/12/2009 11:55

If I had my way, I would put it up xmas eve and take it down boxing day! No other decorations either, just the xmas cards on the fireplace and bookcases.

displayuntiltwelfthnight · 29/12/2009 12:04

yanbu - they take up so much space!
I love our tree and get very excited about putting it up each year but I am just as excited, if not more so, when we take it down and reveal loads more space and get rid of the decorations!
Will be taking ours down just before twelfth night.
Can put money on our neighbour still having santa's feet sticking out of his chimney in February!
