Apols for stilted wording, am hanging off phone to them as I type.

Ordered a bunk bed two weeksagoo; ds3's bedwas damaged so had that and ds2's bedstaken by council day after delivery to allow space to set up.

Ladder missing side bars.

called to let them know, finaly had message to call them yesterday.

Just been told they will only send out if we pay: ds2 currently has to be lifted in to bed as its so high.

Theysay no chance.

WTF?

If you pay what? Postage? If they weren't in the original package why should you have to pay!?!

Have just paid off a big debt with Very that was 39.9% apr for triple bunks I left at ex's house.

VirginPeachyMotherOfSpod · 23/12/2009 14:05

Started advice thread [[here}}

Am shaking as boys don't have a safe bed for Christmas. And wondering if they're going under.

Customer Advisor said she agreed with me it was wrong BTW but her managers had said no to sending out part.

Jeez - I think they are possibley breaking some sort of consumer law by not selling to you the stated item.

I'd start by talking to the manager.

AboardtheAxiom · 23/12/2009 14:23

Oh dear peachy that sounds crappy, get on phone straight away to trading standards.

llareggub · 23/12/2009 14:23

Call Consumer Direct for advice. Sounds v dodgy.

shelleylou · 23/12/2009 14:26

they're crap. Refused to refund my hoover that was 4 months old dispite the fact it was broke. It took them 9 weeks from collecting it to when i got it back, still broken. After numerous phone calls letters i gave up had other things to concentrate

Hando · 23/12/2009 14:30

I am a little confused.

They sent you a bed with part missing and now they want you to pay the postage to sent it on to you? How on Earth are they justifying that one?

Or did you order a bed that had no sides to the ladder as standard, bt they sell them as extras and they are asking you to pay for them?

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 23/12/2009 14:31

I would call Consumer Direct. That sounds completely illegal TBH for them to expect you to pay postage.

Comsumer direct were very helpful when I phoned.

ImSoNotTelling · 23/12/2009 14:41

That is all wrong.

never heard of them before, won't be using them now.

ShinyAndNew · 23/12/2009 14:49

We have an account with Additions (who are/aren't Very?) and they ahve always been brilliant with us. Although we have never had any need to call and complain.

I second consumer direct for advise. They can't sell you half of something and expect you to pay full price.

I'm not really sure I understand what is going on though. You are cash customers and havn't paid for the bed yet, but they have already delivered it? Or the bed was not as described in the catalouge and it's an extra £200 for the parts you want?

ShinyAndNew · 23/12/2009 14:50

BTW Additions aren't going bust, they have juts offered us more credit and I am sure they are the same company as Very.

ChickandDuck · 23/12/2009 14:56

I saw an ad for Very on tinternet offering delivery in time for Christmas if you order by 8pm today

VirginPeachyMotherOfSpod · 23/12/2009 15:37

Very may well be additions, they used to be Littlewoods Direct.

The bed had a lader, just not in box,3 steps were.

We have spoken to CCd; they have already contacted trading standards as there is both a breech of criminal law( am wondering if its the 'if you had an account with us' bit) as well as consumer; have to send a letter, 10 working days etc etc etc.

Am less weepy but still angry. They are not a small company.

VirginPeachyMotherOfSpod · 23/12/2009 15:38

Oh and we paid cash (well, visa debit) at orderpoint- they say they don't now which of the 5 boxes the ladder is in so to get the part we need to buy an entire new one then ask for a refund on the rest.

jaquelinehydeThePresents · 23/12/2009 15:41

Littlewoods, Very, Additions, and Kays are all the same company. Yet you can have credit accounts with each one seperately.
