Cotton buds every-fecking-where. He has an ear infection, it is oozing, he uses cotton buds to clear up the errrm secretions and just leaves them lying around. I have said if I find any more I will insert them in a different bodily orrifice.....

gross!!! he is also risking spreading the germs to others, tell him to bin them!

My OH does this aswell. Its disgusting. He thinks if he puts them into an unlined bin somehow they will empty themselves into a more hygenic place.

NO you muppet I have to unstick them from the bottom of the bin!

And next time I have to do it I may well lodge them in your toothbrush.

They are probably what caused it.

I have never seen the point in them. What are they for?

I bought some when I was pg with DD 18 years ago. I never have worked out what to use them for 4 kids later!

Tell him not to use them! They are incredibly bad for your ears, bits of fluff come off them. He, especially, shouldn't be using them with an infection.

My DH uses cotton buds and ignores all my 'you're not supposed to stick them in your ear' warnings. Claims he gets lots of wax.

Does rather beg the question of what on earth they are sold for. In a mad, sad Anthea moment one day I discovered that they are not bad for cleaning that bit between the bannister slope/rail and the post. (NB I had obviously not yet discovered MN as a great alternative to all household cleaning)

Tis a man thing, this avoidance of bins.
Dh leaves his flossing thing lying around, with bits of festering stuff he's dug out of his molars.
Then there's the bellybutton fluff- always blue- which he leaves in the bath.
And toenails.
One day I will leave a used tampon nonchalantly draped by his toothbrush.

My OH used to leave the peelings off his (ex army) feet in the bath! It was the most disgusting thing I have ever seen (and I used to be a veterinary nurse).

Is there anyway you can shame him into cleaning up? Or refuse him sex on the basis that you couldn't possibly sleep with someone so manly .

I'd probably collect them all and dump them on his pillow and maybe he'll take the hint...

That's revolting! I would go with Igglybuff's suggestion of dumping them all on his pillow. Or next time you have your period, leave used tampons all around the house and see how he likes it ;-)

Chuck the clean ones out they are bad for sticking in your ears.

Then gather all dirty ones and put them in his wallet or somewhere to demonstrate how bloody gross he is being.

Or wrap them up and put them in his xmas stocking!
