to leave DDs stuffed toys on the floor where she has thrown them?

DD2, who hs just turned 2 keeps throwing her stuffed toys out of cot and then shouting til I come upstairs and put them back. Usually 3 times an evening. Has been going on a few weeks.

So tonight I have just gone up and told her they are staying on the floor where she threw them.

Am I a cruel mother? Any other tips? This is getting boring.

Not to mention the numerous trips I have to make up for "need a pee", "need a huggie" both of which are hard to refuse. So I usually end up going up and down 7 times before she will go to sleep.

She's being very 2 today and I am finding it wearing.

YADNBU! and you are not being cruel at all. She is just delaying going to sleep and I think you have handled it perfectly!

Ah, bedtime is such a joy...

Just leave her - she'll get bored quickly and will be fine.

She'll also learn that she's not getting what she wants.

Bugger. These replies came too late! Gave in and went and gave themback to her after 15 mins of shouting "BUNNY ON FLOOR" (her shouting, not me).

Which of course teaches her that it is a great game and that I will eventually crumble.

I just find it really hard when she pulls the "Mummy I want huggeeeee" thing. She's only 2 after all. But she certainly knows how to string me along.
