in a fit of "can't be arsed" and watch my Torvil and Dean DVD instead in front of the fire
My (full with dirty stuff) dishwasher broke down today so I have had to wash that all up. That counts as Christmas prep, right ?

YANBU at all. Someone (a good friend) asked me today if I'd done all my Christmas prep. When I pointed out that I'm spending Christmas in my own home, with only my DH and 2 DC (who all live with me in said home) and only a few friends popping in and out, and therefore there was no need to do any extra cleaning or clearing up (I mean, we all live here all the time, we don't have to impress anybody!) I though she was going to explode ...

Don't make it any harder on yourself than you need to.

Oh, and make sure you down at least half a box of chocs and a glass or three of wine whilst watching the DVD...
