Well I was & now I need to make up for it

Works night out last night - we were doing the 'secret santa'

I had forgotten to tell a new member of staff that were doing it that that we were doing it last night & so she didn't have her present

So I asked DH to take her home to get it - I felt awful this morning when I remembered - she only lives about 4 miles away; but it was so awful of me to assume she had bought it & it was ready

I feel so bad - I rang today to apologise & she was out then I was out when she rang back

I am such a prat I should just have postponed it - how do I make it up to her?

Box of chocolates should fix it. She's new, she'll understand!

Do you think?

I just feel so 'precious' & kinda sad I was so bossy

Well you learned something and she gets chocolates. What's not good about this situation again?

SaintNickKnack · 19/12/2009 22:12

box of chocs sounds like a lovely idea Anything else might be a bit OTT and risk turning it into an even bigger situation.

I guess - I am so control freaky, I need to get it under control

Why didn't she just say she hadn't bought a pressie?

ChippingIn · 20/12/2009 04:08

Katymac - I'd hope that if she didn't have a present ready/one she could use she would have said so. She's and adult is she not? I think you should apologise for not letting her know in advance that it was being done last night and for perhaps seeming a bit 'bossy'... not a big deal in the scheme of things

In think that you were out of order (sorry), nobody is perfect and especially at this time of the year with so much going on!
Where is your Christmas spirit......
Chocolates are a great peace offering but words always mean so much more so why don't you just say "SORRY"!
In my opinion you will be thought more. (fsmile)

I spoke to her today about it & she laughed at me & said I was silly to get upset & at least she would know for next year (thank god she is going to stay)
