I have been a fairy and mrs Christmas at two children's parties this week. I work at a specialist children's centre. One was for children with SN and the other was for the children with cancer.

It was a struggle even with the best will in the world

Most kids are terrified of Father Christmas and many are clearly bemused.

Still, if you agree to do it (particularly if you are being paid) it doesnt kill you to be nice and cheerful!
