Sounds like as good excuse as any to start forgetting your adult relatives' birthdays, too. Part of being a grown-up is not expecting other adults to fuss over your birthday.

That said, I still hope you had a Happy Birthday. Just keep in mind, your birthday is about you, not them.

Mandy1966 · 17/12/2009 09:58

Is it a 'big' birthday prehaps they have planned a suprise party or something for the w/e?

justsue · 17/12/2009 19:02

Happy Birthday!!! Dont feel so bad, my family have not sent me or my two dc a card for years in fact about ten I got used to it

Sorry to hear this, family's can be so crap. I am used to this sort of thing. Luckily, DD's birthday is 5 days before mine, so I sort of celebrate with her, knowing I will be forgotten. How about from now on, forget about expecting anything and save up to treat yourself instead, a haircut, beauty treatment etc., at least you will have that birthday feel good thing.

PandaEis · 17/12/2009 21:50

Ahh that is poo

sod them!!

i hope you had a lovely birthday despite them

i agree, save up and treat yourself to a fab pamper day or suchlike

xx ei xx

You poor thing, that is really sad. I bet they will be mortified when they realise.

Happy Birthday for yesterday

ChippingIn · 18/12/2009 08:36

Of course YANBU!!

That is terrible, especially from your Mum, of all people your birthday should be important to her (birth child or not!!), what crappy behaviour from your family!

I really hope you have a DH/DP/SO who made you feel special & that you still had a nice day...

I think I'd be very tempted to 'forget' all other family birthdays until one of them 'notices' and apologises!!
