took ds 5 and dd 6 for their swimming lesson yesterday. DS has his first at 4. Me and the other mums were watching through the glass windows when one of the mums pointed out 3 men who had just had a punch up in the big pool ! (the kids were in the training pool). The kids hadn't noticed and the staff were soon at the poolside, although one of the men who had a bloody nose stayed in the pool and kept wiping his blood into the water, dirty b!!!. The next minute one of the men through a punch and it all started again ! We (all mums) ran into the pool, the guards were already moving the kids away, DS was crying hysterically, had a coughing fit then was sick !! I got him changed asap, he was shaking with fright, and brought him home. Poor bubba was really scared even though I tried to explain it was just silly men. The instructor has called me today to see how DS is and assure me the people have been banned.
Seriously though, fighting in a swimming pool near kids !!!!!?????

YANBU. Poor DS.

Awww I hope your DS was ok! How awful. There does seem to be some members of society who don't think about how their actions look like to others. The blood in the swimming pool made me feel sick! How gross.

I always hate it when people swear within earshot of my DS. He is at the stage where he copies everything he hears so we don't even say anything mild at home. It really bugs me when we are in town and people walk right past a child saying "fuck this, and thats shit" etc. Not that I am against swearing, I had to try really hard to stop. Just don't like it around children. Sorry, got really off the point there.

Your poor ds. I hope he is OK.

Last time I went swimming there were a couple of prostitutes loudly discussing their work and how it aggravated their bad backs in the shallow end. Luckily dd is too young to understand what they were talking about but I was having to pretend that I wasn't earwiging like mad. I think some people just forget that they are in public.

Trice !!! I too would have been earwigging !
Thanks ladies, ds is ok today although he's a bit nervous about going back to swimming lessons. Got xmas break though so will see how he is in the new year xx

We nearly had fisticuffs in our "exclusive" health club this year- 2 men in their late 50s/early 60s standing their in their trunks swearing at each other because of some remark one had made to the others wife.
I said to them that some of us were trying to have a nice swim and sid they realise how silly they looked all dripping and half naked -the wife told me to keep my f*ing nose out.
Needless to say they are no longer members.

I sat next to a bloke wanking in the jacuzzi at my gym. Never seen a fist fight though.
