FFS {angry]

My eldest DD is 19 and i suggested that i pay for her to have a tattoo for xmas (she is very into tatttoos) and she was really interested. Sorted i thought - great, AND she said not to have it before because everywhere would be booked - bonus, bought me more time.

What does she do?? Changes her fecking mind!! I don't belieeeeeve it - i was in town yesterday xmas shopping thinking, oh, i could buy this for dd if she wasnt having the tattoo - certainly wasn't planning on going back!! Now im buggered, as have not really got the money now (i'll get round it (we dont do credit) but its going to be awkward) and i haven't a clue what to get her.

She saw a mobile phone today and went on about how she wanted it - but it was £129 and i can't really afford it - i was going to give her £50 towards the tattoo and buy her a couple of cheap bits to wrap up. I guess i have spent about £70 on her sister, who is four and consequently easier to buy for.

NOW WHAT DO I SODDING WELL DO????

DP will be like, no way, for the phone as she has had loads of new phones from us and basically just wants this one because it has a tattoo design (i offered her the real thing btw - and shes not bottled it, she is covered) Of course i dont want to co-erce her into another tattoo if she doesnt really want it.

Bloody girls and their vascillations!!(sp)

Give her the £50 as planned. She can then either put it towards her tatoo or the phone. Her choice then.

Surely a 19 year old just wants cash to spend on what you wants, you just need to decide what you can afford

yeah, i think you are right, i will probably do that - i would love to be able to treat her but we are really quite skint this year (AGAIN). Money it is then. Trouble is, she will waste the money - she works though so might actually buy herself something with it. My mother always gives me money - i ends up spending it on bills - every year the same, she says dont spend it on bills, every year - no choice .
