the other alternative would be to keep him off that day. he is not allergic as such, but it turns him into a little devil. i feel strongly that it makes no sense to let him eat everything one day a year while carefully controlling his diet for the remaining 364 days. i would even be willing to provide a selection of food for ds and others on his table. i don't know whether the mere suggestion would offend them as they are rushed off their feet this week and the oher parents don't appear bothered (especially those sending in haribos and value cola!).

I remember the 'wrong sort of chocolate' thread and the 2yr old party with water, rice cakes and dried apricots!

LaurieFairyonthetreeeatscake · 14/12/2009 22:34

you are bonkers

it's a sausage not cocaine

You are clearly trolling as this is your first post.

"I'm taking choclate crispy cakes and tuna sandwiches to DDs nursery party. Wih extra smarties on."

mumblecrumble Tuna sandwiches with smarties on?! Ewww!

mumblecrumble · 14/12/2009 22:45

fishychocolicious.

How prejudice.

fledtoscotland · 14/12/2009 22:47

I think you are setting yourself up for problems in the future TBH. The more you try to prevent your DS from the foods you perceive as being inappropriate, the more he will actively seek them. Example, my mother forbade all burgers/sausages in our house when I was growing up. I adore this type of junk food although now I make my own burgers for my DC and limit sausages so more expensive ranges.

Yes the healthy diet is important but please step off your pedestal and do not alienate your child for no good reason

scottishmummy · 14/12/2009 22:50

live a little, bit of fun never harmed the weans

Fruitysunshine · 14/12/2009 22:54

You were hoping to be able to make up a whole table of allergy sufferers so that your child could join (who is not actually allergic to anything) in order to satisfy your concerns about party food?

Are you trying to get extra attention for your child for some STRANGE reason??

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 14/12/2009 22:54

OP needs to get a life.

Kaloki · 14/12/2009 22:55

I now need to find a way to use fishychocolicious in everyday conversation! lol

fledtoscotland · 14/12/2009 22:58

PixieOnaChristmasTree - i'd forgotten that post. makes me laugh just remembering it. wasnt it M&S pasta she gave her charge that the troll was moaning about?

KitKatQueensSpeech · 14/12/2009 22:58

oohh!!! tispity, my dd was given a fruitshoot on a schooltrip once!!!!!!!

I think it might be best if your ds didn't go to school at all! All those nasty traffic fumes on the way there can't be good for him! omg what if the parent of the child sitting next to him smokes and the fumes waft out of the childs clothes all over ds???? !

I really think it would be far better for your ds if you home school him from now on, buy him a giant hamster ball to prevent him from being contaminated by the world, and fgs! Make sure that you wash any smarties that may have touched the orange ones!!!

lou031205 · 14/12/2009 23:02

Has anyone tried to puree a Crunchie bar before? It's hard work, but my 8 month old loved it once I got there.

floweryblue · 14/12/2009 23:04

Give up, if you make it too 'interesting' you will be doing to your kids what the Catholic nuns did to my schoolmates...Forbidden fruit being so much more interesting than a simple apple...

Goblinchild · 14/12/2009 23:08

Send him with his own lunchbox, and a ban on eating anything else, but why should other children suffer because his mother's a loon?
And M&S piggie sweets have pork gelatin in them, so unsuitable for veggies, Muslims and Jews in the class.

piscesmoon · 15/12/2009 08:00

In a survey most DCs admitted to swapping things from their lunch box!

deaddei · 15/12/2009 08:34

op- please come back and tell us what additive-fuelled wrecking spree your ds went on after his party- did any children end up hospitalised? Has he been excluded? Are you the talk of the playground? Did he throw up on a Boden wraparound dress?
Do tell us!!!

yummyyummyyummy · 15/12/2009 09:35

haven't read the whole thread, but just want to add that kids get hyper just from excitement of being at parties

tispity · 15/12/2009 09:50

i am not a troll - would rather be a troll than a trollop in any case.
just because i have not been on MN for years that does not make me a troll - have i missed something or is there some kind of soho house style application form i was meant to fill in to be allowed to post on here? "only the clique-iest, bitchiest most conformist mums with a min five hours a day to vent their frustrations, are allowed entry"
i have cut through a load of crap and taken on board the few bits of sane advice offered (will provide some food of my own).
i have looked up some of these MNers to try and understand what's up and can see that this is sadly typical of your behaviour on MN (Menopausal Numpties???) - four going onto forty; obviously it is true that you are what you eat.

LaurieFairyonthetreeeats - sausages are even more unhealthy than cocaine actually

God you're so right re sausages. Any ideas how I can wean my 9 year old off them and onto cocaine instead? Or shall I start a new thread?

addictedtolatte · 15/12/2009 09:59

youve posted in the wrong place you need to post in mental health. the men in the white coats will be here for you soon.

I think you're quite right, Tipsytitty. I have sent my dc to a school that serves only organic, pure food, mostly raw, for this very reason. I don't know why people are so cavalier about it.
