To wonder what type of person would go on a TV show called 'My Ugly Best Friend'?

New show on Living TV tonight - basically it involves two friends, a super conident one and one with self esteem issues, the confident one gets to tell the other one how shit they are/look/dress and then the under confident one gets a makeover.

How mortifying for the being picked on madeover!

How the hell do they think of these tv shows!

GregsTheBaker · 14/12/2009 20:07

Yep, the people who go on these types of shows are utter doughnuts.

eww, sounds like an absolutely horrible show

are these people sooo desperate for 5 mins of fame they will do anything ??

yuk

YANBU, I wouldn't consider someone my best friend if judged me because of my looks. Your best friend is supposed to love you no matter what you look like.
Saying, 'You're my best mate but I think you're a minger, so get a makeover,' is fucking shallow.

DillieTantie · 14/12/2009 20:21

How awful. Maybe a load of bitchy folks get shut in a room until they think of a way to make insecure people feel even worse than they already do.
Also - what sort of shitty person would nominate someone as an "ugly best friend"? Best friends are to be treasured, even if they're not pretty. The perfidy inherent in this notion is horrible.
Anyone who would nominate an actual friend for this horror should examine their putative fame-seeking motives, IMO.

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 14/12/2009 20:31

I reckon the so-called ugly ones are happy to go on tv, tbh

they must have to obtain their consent to do the filming and televise it

like I said....desperate

I have watched a bit of it.

I feel like sticking my head down the toilet.

The ugly one is not ugly. She is a bit overweight and could do with a hair cut. She is quite pretty IMO.
The pretty one isnt all that and would be medically classed as overweight anyway.

They asked a bunch of fuckwitted boymen to give their opinion on the two.

Ugly one got slated and 'I wouldnt try and pull her till about 3am guffaw guffaw'

Other one got 'I like her she looks a bit promiscuious' So thats a compliment these days.

FFS.

Any amount of strong women who have fought and died for our liberty will be turning in their graves right now. I fully expect the earth to spin off its axis under the pressure!

Hmmm free cosmetic dentistry, cosmetic surgery, makeover and new wardrobe all for a few tears and harsh words....with the knowledge at the end they will make you look like a swan.

TheGoatofChristmasPast · 14/12/2009 21:29

i never watch living tv but just reading this makes me want to throw my tv out the window.

5inthesleighbed · 14/12/2009 22:16

I'm watching it on +1. The "best friend" is uite harsh, and imo, not one in a million as she calls herself.
