Your mods sound a bit slack all round, as ours only allow so many 'want' requests a week/month (can't remember which) anyway. Have you emailed them to point it out?

If he's contributing to keeping socks out of landfill, then it's not against the ethos of Freecycle. Multiple want requests may be though!

Seriously though, asking for children's socks is a bit creepy. Have you e-mailed Nigel himself to see if he could give you a more logical explanation? Tell him you have lots of odd socks to start the conversation flowing?

I'd say a sock fetish is pretty harmless, if strange. Just don't send him any of your socks if it makes you uncomfortable.
