Im feeling rather disapointed.... exp has said he cant have the kids on xmas day.... hasnt given a reason. he has said he will have them in xmas eve instead.
Feel a bit sad as i love the build up to christmas. I have asked him if he can bring them back in time for tea 5 or 6 ish so that I can have an hour with them before they go to bed. he says thaat he cant make any promises.

I dont want them home late as they will be miserable on christmas day.... i have plans later on in the evening and need them down aand settled for the babysitter and also i just want to spend a bit of time with them on xmas eve.

so AIBU?? (i expect the answer is yes)

can u offer boxing day instead? my xp's access is sat/sun so i suggested we stick to offical days and same next year (means he will pick them up xmas day 2010)

are your evening plans for xmas day or eve?

YANBU. At first I thought you were peeved because you didn't want them on xmas day.

I'm all for the build up to xmas- it's better than xmas itself. Xmas night for us is going to be watching xmas films, eating scrummy food, putting santa's snacks out and having an early night.

It would be a shame for you to miss that just because he doesn't want his kids on xmas day.

Tell him as he has changed the plans he can have them at a time that suits you. Or he can stick to the original plan. It's a bit late now for him to be changing plans anyway, how do the children feel?

YANBU at all. You have perfectly valid reasons and he is the one who is being vague about it. Insist they have to be back as you want to settle them before the babysitter gets there. Or boxing day sounds like a good idea if he will go with it.
